Here are two websites sponsored by the Canadian Govt. The Americans have them also but under slightly different names.
The first one is for govt. grants(Free Money) at servicecanada.gc.ca/apprenticeship or call 1 800 0Canada.
The second one is the Canadian Govt. Job Bank. A site you can use to see up and coming jobs or jobs in different parts of the country that are available.
Home - Job Bank ...same phone number 1-800 0Canada
These sites can set you up with training, loans, grants, sponsorships etc.

Sounds like you are pretty lucky to find the opportunities that perfect for you in short amount of time, and your particular interest doesn't require a lot of overhead. Most people don't have those luxuries when looking for work, even in high-demand fields. I mean, how often do you hear someone finding let alone landing their dream job within two weeks?

I believe it is important to have a few failed interviews under your belt. Not only are they probably great stories and potential icebreakers, it's really hard to appreciate the good if you've never experienced the bad. Also, as well as learning from your own interviewing mistakes, you'll get to see what a bad interviewer and potentially bad boss could look like.

I've often interviewed for positions i and under qualified for knowing full well i'm not getting the job. I did it to see how management thinks and how they'll react to some bold upstart and/or just to have a one-on-one with higher levels of management in a company. I've impressed some people, and been laughed at by others. It's all good though cuz each one is a learning experience, and there definitely have been some bullets dodged.

This week there was a spat of resumes dropped off with our company by upcoming University grads (engineers mostly), who are finishing in April and are now prodding the job market.
If you've been putting off the job search, just remind yourself that the Universities are going to spew out another grad class of competition in 10 weeks and your job competitors are increasing in numbers.

That's always been the case. If you want to get worried or pessimistic about your prospects at anything, really, there will always be ample fuel.

My son just got an interview with a tug boat company. While phone talking to see if he was a suitable interview candidate they asked him if he liked "Cold and Wet". He replied "That sounds just like my ex!"
Hahahahaha, you've got the interview sir.
Hope he gets it. Tuggies make huge money.

Spring is arriving and tons of summer jobs are opening up. Yard maintenance companies and greenhouses around here have dozens of job notices up.

my plan is to take a few courses at the local CC and find something in the para-medic field..

...or just do my time, my current job does offer one of those simple IRA plans that they match up to a certain percentage..i had a decent nest egg but hospital bills and daughters college tuition ate much of it up

It's not all bad, just a little mind numbing. But what the fuck, life is a little mind numbing.
