I generally try to McGiver something together from what I have lying around before I buy anything.
My Nuclear reactor constructed from a twist tie and a bran muffin was something to behold.

Here's the breed ya want. They don't root - so you can let'em graze the yard or an orchard without them tearing it all up, love to be around people, boars get about 240 lbs. and sows about 150 - so they're pretty easy to process at home, marble well on nothing but grass - no pig chow or other GMO shit required. They're also kinda ugly cute, which is both a blessing and a curse. Just one is trouble, 'cuz they are social little fuckers, and 'cuz you'll probably kill and eat one of your kids before ya do the pig... they really do grow on ya.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kunekune

Their only down side is that if ya wanna get rid of a body they aren't very good at cleaning up bones and such the way the big porkers do, but that's the other reason I like 'em. Not too fond of raising anything that'll eat me if I fall and hit my head.

When we went over to Picktons farm we used to feed his 500lb guard pig bottles of beer before he would let us in.
According to gathered evidence ,he used to feed his pigs crack whores. They seemed pretty healthy and robust except for the occasional twitching...the pigs I mean. Anything that died on the farm like chickens, ducks, cats etc. were thrown in the pig pen and devoured instantly.

We had a local who caught somebody stealing from him and fed him to his hogs. Cops were out at his farm like five or six times looking for evidence and never found anything. Dumb fucker couldn't keep his mouth shut though. Used to hang out runnin' his trap at the livestock auction and finally said the wrong thing to the wrong person. LEO's finally found the right DNA in the pig shit apparently. Doin' life plus now I believe.

Yeah my dogs will eat strangers that try to feed 'em, but if you give the bigger one a beer you in.

I'm thinking this.. Single lady with children.. I want something that could potentially eat an intruder.
Plus he's cute.
Totally doing vertical strawberries this year.. Did them at work.. Kids did them last year.. So good!

Opi ions on the pig?

I actually wish everyone that found it necessary to eat dead animals gave them lives like you and Shadow are doing. Personally I couldn't raise an animal to be on the diner table. By the time they would be ready for slaughter, they'd have names and their own bedrooms. I'm a vegetarian for 37 years because I'm an animal lover, just can't help myself. I'd like to organize the poor little fuckers.

I have yet to see "Sniper". Would probably puke. Muslims bad. American idiots good.
Meh, don't assume Shadow treats her animals humanely. Farmers are weird people. They have big egos because our society has weakened a lot. So they see themselves as bad ass. I worked on a farm and had respect for the animals, especially the pigs. Pigs are smart and interesting animals with a personality.

That is the shitty part of being a human. With technology, we have domesticated animals and thus relate to them more. Not natural. It would be much easier to hunt a wild boar than to slaughter a pig you raise.

Anyways, shadow can think she is badass all she want. Farming is easy work. Once you get used to the smell of chicken shit and being filthy all the time, it's all down hill. I could easily lift more than her or her husband.

Likely gonna make my head explode trying to understand you but here goes... WTF is this supposed to mean?

More nonsense... there is absofuckinglutely nothing more relational between us and pigs as the result of technology, quite the opposite. CAFO's are as far from nature as anything can possibly get, and "relating" to the animals is something that only occurs through more intimate interaction than confinement swine operations ever afford. When you say you worked on a farm you did what exactly? On what kind of farm?

Says you, 'cuz you've killed both a wild boar and a domesticated one, and dressed both? I can certainly attest that I have less of an issue killing a nuisance wild pig than one of my own for food, but I prefer to breed for new stock and only eat non-conforming culls. Not sure WTF you're trying to speak to... that pigs you make friends with are harder to part with... duh? Thanks for that insight. Do you do either, or do you finish killing your bacon right from the Styrofoam and petrol-plastic wrap.

Don't know Shadow, never had the pleasure of meeting her, but having had a peak of what I presume is their spread I'd say that she's no pussy, so ya might wanna scale back the bold internet testosterone outbreak. I have a feeling that if she had balls, they'd be a whole lot bigger than yours.

If you can smell shit than you aren't doing it right, so I'm not sure what the fuck you're talking about or again, what your frame of reference is. As for it being easy work, well yeah I guess it is, if you balance the demands on your time and physicality against the level of fulfillment derived from doing something righteous and worthwhile... sure it's a lot easier than spreading ass or sucking dicks for a living, but having no real experience doing either of the latter I must defer to the more superior expertise presented.
Not sure I really care but what the fuck is your malfunction?

Shadow... shoot him in the knees and throw him to the pigs.

I worked on a family farm, and she didn't have her shit totally together. The chicken barn was very dirty, the pigs were outside doing alright, and then she had sheep and goats together. The problem was she was trying to get a petting zoo going and it was misguided. There was no profit in it.

Uh huh... yeah, well I'm always getting banned for excessive tip toeing.

Uh, not to be a picker of nits, or a negative Nellie here, but a petting zoo turn-key a farmer does not make.

I wouldn't say we pussy out, but since we don't have the knowledge, skill, equipment etc to process the meat once the pig has been slaughtered and the "killin" is included in the price of processing the meat, we have a guy coming out to do it. He has a special truck with everything he needs already on it. In all honesty, I'm kinda relieved someone else is going to do the deed. I have never done it before or seen it done. It would be terrible for Mrs. Pigglesworth if I missed or somehow did it wrong and she suffered. Anyways, he comes out, Puts her down and then takes her in his truck to be processed into chops, ham, bacon, sausage... Getting the ears and innards for the dogs. Makin pork rinds with the skin. Trying to use every bit I can. We get everything back after it's cured and cut up. About 2 weeks after the kill.

I never said I was a farmer or a badass. I don't think of myself as a badass. I'm just Shadow. And I do everything I can to try and make that piggy happy while she lives. Otherwise what is the point in raising my own pig???

And for fuck's sake, I hope you CAN lift more than a 5'0 100 pound girl, but what the fuck does that have to do with anything?
