do you like/love/hate where you live??

Hey there YahooKa. So I've been traveling a bit lately, and the more I do, the more I realize how much I want to relocate permanently. NJ just isn't for me anymkre.. I'm not sure if it ever was. The people here are assholes and the weather is brutal compared to other states like CO or HI.

I'm wondering if you like where you live now, and did you have to move around to find it? What about where you live now do you love or hate? Did do you have experiencing with moving or traveling and getting the bug to leave? Are you gay? Right now my plan is to travel more and then move to Hawaii for 6 months- a year, then settle in Boulder for awhile.

Why not come back.. Are people where you're at crazy friendly compared to the average asshole who is in a rush and hates his life that you will find in the NE?

Been saying this for years, but i will leave NJ and never come back.
Doesn't feel much like "home" and never did. I feel more at home pretty much everywhere else i go.

Jersey just is not my pace, and fuck the COL. The lady and I want to head to the urban Midwest (less dense population, still some city amenities, cheap housing); Chicago, Milwaukee, etc.

I love the bay area because weather is great, good jobs and lots of opportunity. Great hiking and camping nearby. Police are pretty chill. Lots of cool people. My grandparents bought property in the city back in the day which is great because prices have been sky rocketing because of the tech boom. I don't have to worry about getting forced out of SF like many people have.

The absurd cost of living is the only drawback to this city, but there's many cheaper options close by.

I live in San Bernardino, California, and I love this place. I'm surrounded by mountains to hike in, it's cheap, and it's got a long and storied history. It's also the biggest piece of shit ghetto in the Inland Empire (that includes Fontana). But, as the birthplace of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, you expect a little bit of tarnish is going to be what gives your city character.

The only reason I really want to move is for the safety of my wife and son. I have not found SBD to be a dangerous place, but it IS poor, and there are crackheads and hoes and such, so a gay man of slight build or a middle aged woman might have reason to fear the darkness here.

after a few more trips recently, it's tough for me to wrap my head around why anyone would want to live in NJ. Besides the Jersey Shore, or maybe a fun border town of NYC, I don't see the appeal. Of course we see what we want to see, and all that jazz. But compared to other parts of the country, people are always in a rush, and they think their life sucks (and they can't see the correlation). When I was in CO last week, literally every single person I met was happy and smiling. It was fucking weird.

It wasn't even like the old wild west or some dusty place full of red necks, like I imagined it would be. Boulder is a fucking baller ass high end town that compares to any fancy town in NJ, including a booming software industry, but with people that do not suck, sick mountains, warmer, etc.. It's like a whole 'nother level of living out there. I realized that the only thing that would ever hold me back from moving at this point would be fear, and that absolutely is not going to happen.
