Despite what I said earlier in this thread, there are a couple long stretches of time each year (like 2 months or so) where I don't see my daughter in person.


And getting older while your daughter is literally growing up without you is hard on the soul.

That sucks, dude. Friends and family laugh when I say it, but every night before I crash, I replay the time I spent with my daughter and think, "Did I do enough? Did I miss anything I should mention tomorrow?"

Then I read a sincere comment like this and think, "I'm lucky to be able to do anything."
