Legalisation

Recreational legalization. It hasn't happened yet, but it will soon. And when I hear about it, which is all the time (not because I hang out with a bunch of stoners who talk about it) because every couple weeks its in the news for either some government action, some opposition position or police raid, I still feel like its surreal, like its some sort of fake thing that doesn't change the way I smoke pot.

When I hear it on my own it makes me think 'yea we'll see what they do,' and when I hear it with coworkers or friends around I make some snarky critical comment about how I expect they could do it better than they will.

And it always takes a breath and a reflective moment to realize that this is really happening and the deep seated thoughts and feelings I have towards the issue will at least in part be resolved... that this thing I do will no longer be shameful or have a need to be hidden and faux pas.

It makes me want to bring a few joints to smoke with my most conservative, never having smoked, police friends, just to engage in the act and make it real once it happens, even though when I burn I like to smoke a tiny amount and joints are not my thing at all.

Also there is still a chance they could back out of the legislation, or stall, or find some political reason why its not gonna happen (like they have through all of history since criminalization). It's still totally illegal and until that changes... it will be unchanged.

I believe that it will happen at least before the next election. I imagine the Liberals would be too afraid to lose that majority of theirs if they didn't.

If i dont see full legalization of all drugs in my lifetime ima be super pissed.

Im already really bummed that my dad probably wont be able to see it. Fascist fucks gonna keep an old man from being able to just be high, pain free, and relax. God damnit i hate this shit. Telling someone what they can or cannot put into their own body. Fuckkkk youuuuu.

And anyone who seriously buys into the fact that "hard drugs" should stay illegal for self harm prevention, fuck you too cause your god damn you're dumb. Shit doesnt even kill a tenth of what cheeseburgers do. Let alone alcohol tobacco cars etc.
Cant take some morphine because you might get hurt, but hey go ahead and take some shrapnel to secure that oil field for us.

/end rant.

I won't consider it legal until smoking it can't keep me from getting/keeping a job anymore.

Pretty much the only reason I don't smoke now is drug testing.
