My Dads sick

He might have Leukemia
Bone cancer

My moms sick too.
They’re only in their early 60’s

He said to me today..
He wants me to stay here

I’ll never be able to leave.

What the hell am I going to do?

That sounds so selfish.

I don’t want to watch them die.

I’m just really scared.

i'm sorry Turm, i quess you have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself..i watched my mom die from cancer younger than i am now, and it was tough...

and even if he ends up having leukemia ..cancer is not death sentence..Yahooka has it's own living proof of that

Leaving wouldn't be selfish, you have your own life to live. You can be there for them without living under the same roof.

Ask yourself which choice would cause you more regret in the future, and do the thing you know you'd regret less.

Sending prayers for your dad too, Turm
I would be really scared too

Going to take it Day t day and stay present.

I don’t think it’s fare for the kids to keep them here if anyone is going to die. Will find out Tuesday. Will also find out if I can be a possible donor seeing it’s bone marrow.

There’s a lot of responsibility ahead of this is what’s happening.

I knew this was going to happen.

I’m pissed because I have two sisters who are putting this on me and expect me to stay here and be the one. The one to be the caregiver.

This is not how I thought my life would play out but I might be thinking too far ahead.

I usually have a good feeling when I hear someone is sick, like I know if they’ll get better and I did at first.....now I am having bad vibes. And that’s bad.

One day at a time.

He’ll be fine.

Thank you

I have a couple things to say here...

I don't think it would harm you or your kids to help a dying loved one live their last days in dignity and love. Death is part of the circle of life. It also teaches your children how to care for you, when the time comes. We all want unicorns and rainbows, but that isn't real.

I don't think it's wrong for you to not want this to be happening. To express that you 'don't want to', then doing it anyway, is an act of kindness, which I know full well, you are capable of. You're a good person turm.

Despite your own fears, your Dad is more scared than you. It's hard for kids of any age to understand that at some point you are stronger than your Dad. That's why he asked you to stay.

Having said all that, I also feel that if you do stay, things have got to change. No more having Mom volunteer you to babysit your sisters kids. If you stay, it has to be on equal terms. You cannot give up your future. You need to survive too.

Now some advice... don't complain to your Dad about how your sisters aren't doing enough. He will know who is there and who is not. When my own daughter did this, it made me feel like such a burden. She didn't mean to, but it did. I hope I didn't do this to my own parents.

Having said all that, I hope he doesn't have leukemia. It's bad, but not necessarily a death sentence. Chemo is rough. He'll need help.

I love you, turm.
