Good place to grow

How did everyone find a good place to grow, I live out in the country on 5-6 acres of land so I have plenty of room, just wondering what to look for in a place to grow, and how everyone else picked their spots.

good sunlight, no one around to find/poach plant. railroad beds work well if there isnt anywhere else, but i usually put my grow in a forest preserve clearing real deep.
