Schizophrenia
How many of you got it?
How many motherfuckers can say they psychotic?
How many motherfuckers can say
They brains dryrotted from pot?
You got it like I got it or not?
If you did you would know just what I'm talking 'bout
When your tongue's rotting out from cotton mouth
When you end up becoming so dependent on weed
That you end up spending a G
In the vending machine
You got the munchies
Look at you
Junk food junkie
Potato chips and lunch meat
Up in the front seat
Sometimes you can get so paranoid from ganja
That it's got you thinking the whole world is watching ya

Cannabis is good for you prevents cancer emphazema and brain disorders, all these studies that show whether weed causes skitzophrenia shows correlations but no causation. So People who happen to have skitzophrenia may be more inclined to smoke cannabis, and it's the same for depression.

this is blatantly innaccurate, several studies corrected for prior menrtal illness and still found a relationship between cannabis and schizophrenia, such as this one:

once again, blatant mininformation.

While the evidence has concluded consistently that depression does not cause cannabis use [6], a thoughtful re-analysis of the ongoing National Longitudinal Survey of Youth of 1979, published in this issue of Addiction, has examined the hypothesis that cannabis use causes depression [7]. The strength of these analyses is that they are from a large, representative sample participating in multiple waves of a longitudinal study that has measured a large number of demographic, psychosocial and health-related variables that allow for many of the common-cause factors to be controlled for in the analyses. A number of studies have reported a significant association between depression and cannabis use at levels of weekly or more often among young people.

Schizophrenia from using cannabis too much? I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me. Moderation is the key. Excess always leads to distruction. Smoking every day, as I once did, decades ago, is not good for you. Everything in moderation.

We just have to remember that different substances affect different people in different ways. So developing schizophrenia over a course of years of marijuana use could perhaps happen, but it could also do nothing to someone else.

if you know what I mean.

I know weed is fun, I used to do it everyday, and I can't remember the last two years. I appreciate that it does have medicinal merit, and I support the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. It just worries and kinda pisses me off when I hear people spouting on about how it is not addictive and completely safe, because that is bullshit.
Possibly the most ridiculous pro hemp propaganda is the well known line that smoking marijauna is not harmful because it is only a plant. Cocaine is a plant. Heroin is a plant. Some of the most dangerous substances on the planet come from plants.
Weed abusers are losers. Why do people smoke every fucking day? I smoke 3 times a week only on the weekends. If u abuse it(daily use) u r going to get addicted and yes it can lead to mild paranoia. But have some common sense and smoke occaisionally.

This kind of misinformation makes me crazy. Cannabis does not cause holes in the brain. If you have holes in your brain, you have mad cow disease. Weed is not going to cause you get schizophrenia or depression. As many as 1 in 5 people have depression, so it is really common. Schizophrenics smoke pot, b/c they need something to keep the voices and crazy thoughts at bay. I worked in mental hospital, and most used marijuana at some point to relieve some symptoms of their disease. Stop spreading uneducated opinions!

A recent clinical study in the journal Psychiatry Research refutes a causal link between cannabis use and behavior suggestive of schizophrenia. "The current study ... suggest[s] a temporal precedence of schizotypal traits before cannabis use in most cases," its authors conclude. "These findings do not support a causal link between cannabis use and schizotypal traits."
