Thumbs up the grateful dead and other stoner bands

hello all, how many of you like the grateful dead? if so i thought i'd bring to your attention some other stoner bands that you may not have heard of but are really good:

Sleep (by far their best work it the album "sleep's holy mountain")
Electric Wizard
Dead Meadow
Warhorse
Neurosis ( not stoner band, but i swear, their album "through silver in blood" is amazing.. even if you are not a fan of metal, this album will blow your mind away, even while sober.)

anyways, ganted all these bands are alot more heavy than the dead or phish, but they have the same feel of improv and all that, so if you like the dead and such, i think you'd enjoy these bands!

something like
"jerry's dead, phish sucks, get a job"?

omg I had the best veal florentine for dinz

also good M.O.B is now my favorite strain.

so for bands I dunno I like some like railroad earth and yonder mountain and da gorillaz

pretty lights has been pretty big on my playlists lately

ummmmm do you want bands that sound like the dead? if so such side projects as new riders of the purple sage, legion of mary and jerry garcia band have been reasonably productive in the past.

LoL

Yea.... those bands are a WEEEEEE bit heavier

Sleep is good shit....

This one is the album mentioned:

This is Jerusalem, another album... but I think you can see a theme developing?

Then there is Om a break off or side project.... VERY different as well...

One of my favourite stoner bands is The Melvins, tons of albums, all equally weird and unique...

It's acquired.... I'll admit that about a lot of Stoner bands....

I used to go see these dudes play a lot at a club in Maryland, this is more stoner rock than metal.
