Lightbulb Another Governmental Conspiracy?

I know that I should be thinking more highly on our government esp. since 11sep01 but ya know what gets me? True we are the most powerful and fairest country, compared to Afghanistan and other countries of the region and world-wide. But DAMN IT legalize fucking pot...whats so bad about it really? They just make it illegal so that the gov. can sell it on the black market and make money to pay off our debts. Its illegal because if everyone smoked it then the gov. wouldnt make money and we would stay in the hole...nothing like a K-hole lol

Peace and love

ive yet to find any info about the government seeling pot on the black market, but if u find any please share. also, the government would make a shitload of money off marijuana if it was legal, just look at the tax they put on cigs and beer. they are making a bundle off cigarettes. if marijuana became legal they could tag on any tax they wanted and rake in billions. but why dont they do it? look at the war on drugs and all the millions of dollars WE have spent on it. think they'll just drop the idea and legalize pot? i dont think so.

That's a valid point reagan. All booze costs far too much, and cigarettes are just ridiculous. You guys hear recently about Washington state putting a ridiculous tax on cigarettes. Something like a carton of Malboros costs 48 dollars.

But i think it'd be just fucked up enough to walk into 7-11 20 years from now and ask for an oz. of Northern Lights. I dare not guess what the cost would be, but i know what it should be. And talking to the 19 year old behind the register saying 'it'd cost $200-400 back when i was you age to score this same amount, unless you knew someone really cool.' It'd be so nostalgic i'd probably laugh or cry.

I'm ranting, i'm sorry. These kinda posts are better delt with in the Activism and politics board.

Good signature, reagan. Not enough people know the great musical genius of Robbin' the hood.

Glad to see the site up and runnin again!

sorry, but the gov is keeping drugs illegal because the tax they have on it while its illegal can be far more then they could ever tax it legally. you bring up cigs as an example, a pack of cigs is 4 dollars, but you fail to realize weed is just as easy to grow if not easier to grow then tobacco, think of a pack of 20 joints for 4 dollars?? you pay a whole lot more for worse quality. drugs are taxed by something like 17,000 % . if drugs were legal everywhere the government would lose there hugest money resource and the stock market would crash because the govt (corporations) is held up by it. the world would become open minded and free and our oppression would end and anarchy will reign. the real world will be in chaos which is like perfect nature. wed all be better off dead

marijuana is the cash crop of the criminal justice system. And if it ever does get legalized, what will the authorities turn their attention to next to keep all those people busy? Money is power and no one is going to give up power. Our lawyer politicians will look after their fellow lawyers. Defender or prosecutor, there will be law to take sides on.

What will they all come after next. If it's legalized, be prepared for new assaults on our personal freedoms.

marijuana being legal in the US wouldn't work out really. I think they should just decrimilize it, cuz right now the penalities are just outragous and i think even most people believe sincerly other than damn hardcore anti-drug promoters. Have any of u seen that anti-drug shit with terroists and how they supposely fund the drug war with marijuana. The government could stop lying to us, but guess that's what happens when your in power, you stop listening to the people and instead get influenced in the government's interests.

they gotta make something up, marijuana is in such a different class as the real drugs that SHOULD be illegal such as heroin and cocaine. the gov. has ligit reasons to make heroin illegal, but marijuana? they really dont have shit on it. so, they have to make it look like marijuana is illegal for a good reason. just look at cigs, they tax the hell out of us, make billions, pay for some truth commercials so it looks like they are doing a good thing, but still make a choice profit. they make the majority happy and their pockets fatter.
