Man! I wish I was there with you! I love watching mama nature remind everyone who's really in charge. I haven't got to do a hurricane yet, hope to someday. Waitin for storms with a bowl is one of my fav pastimes. Tell Katrina to keep on headin west when she comes ashore. We could use the rain up here.

When I was a teen, there used to be hurricane parties. I grew up on the eastern part of Cape Cod (duh, Wellfleet) near Provincetown, and we experienced quite a few in the mid to late eighties, Hugo being particularly strong and memorable. The surf was what we really wanted though! Aaaah, memories of getting shacked.

All I remember of Hugo were that the trees blew sideways, and it was rather light out for 2-3a.m.

Not to mention the massive damage that happened around my town. Trees and shit filled the roads and fell onto (and into ) houses.
