kitchen accident (sorry no pics)
i just sharpened my knives a couple days ago... so i was cutting up a bell pepper trying to go fast and i sliced through my fingernail and through that part underneath the fingernail (what is that called?) of my index finger at an angle so the tip isnt damaged, but halfway from my cuticle to the tip there is an oval slice of nail and flesh missing...
due to the bleeding i had to wrap it up in a pantyliner and tape it up tight so now i have this giant thing on my finger... with wings it didnt hurt at first but now it does a lot, like electric shocks or red hot needles poking typing one handed usually means something else haha but oh it hurts a lot now i cant operate a bong or pipe+ lighter this way, and never learned to roll one handed. how can i toke by myself? |

Couple weeks ago at work a kid took off a few fingers with a saw.
Went to see him the next evening and he had already learned to roll one handed... It's all in the commitment. The stuff below is called the "quick" around here. Ice numbs it pretty good, quick thinking on the liner, they work a dream. Ya ever look up and see how they were invented?

superglue's effective as a sealant in extreme cases, hence its original introduction, on the WW2 frontlines.
Did you go to the hospital veda?

hospital? i dont need no stinking hospital!
superglue's a good idea, but i think the blood would wash it away to fast i been working in a kitchen since i was 8 and this is the first injury in a long time... several years, if you dont count occasional burns |

This same thing happened to my buddy chopping up some green onions at my house. I've got some really sharp Global knives. He chopped of a piece of his finger and nail, and the funny thing was it looked just like some of the onion he was cutting. Fortunately I fished out the chunk before using the onions.
He's a doctor and he told me that the nail line where these cuts occur will never grow back to the same as they were before. I'd recommend several bong hits for the pain, just invite a friend over to light the bowl for you.

By the age of seven or eight, says Morrow, kids are usually ready to start using sharp knives, as long as they know what they are doing and understand the danger. Always teach children proper cutting skills, like lucking their fingers away from the cutting edge, before letting them handle real knives.
