M-39...Seems to be everywhere

In Ottawa, there is a lot of weed called M-39 (its an indica strain) and its everywhere. A lot of dealers carry that. It's not the best stuff I had, but it's pretty strong and hydroponically grown.

Anyone else heard of M-39? Or get M-39 in their area?

Oh yeah, good ole M-39.
Bred by the Super Sativa Seed Club and supposed to be very potent. It was a cross of Basic#5 and Skunk#1.
A very well known breeder stated that Basic#5 is NL#5, SSSC wasn't allowed to call it NL#5... Whatever, if that is true it is Shiva Skunk by Sensi seeds (NL#5 x SK#1).

A lot of the M-39 going around isn't really M-39 shhhhhhh.
Pick a name any name when dealing with dealers. I shouldn't say that, there ARE dealers that know what they speak of.
I've just not met one.

Wow, I didn't know all that about M-39.

But i know for sure that it is M-39 because I'm somewhat allergic to that particular strain. If I sniff a bag, I get a stuffed nose and sneezing for a little bit and it's usually dense and dry so when the crystals touch my skin, i get itchy.

Plus i'm quite familiar with the texture of the M-39 buds. My main dealer (who gets shit labelled by strains) says its so common because it's cheap and easy to grow.

If I remember correctly, a grower here grew some last year... or the year before.
Maybe he'll pipe up.

around here, and im in ontario as well, M39 is the "commercial strain" of choice, and i personally hate it, doesnt have a distinct smell, taste, or high...i refer to it as cancer bud, and i actually threw some out the other day...im sure if the strain is grown correctly it cud be decent, and i have had some i dont mind, but in general i do not enjoy leafy, bad tasting, harsh, commercially grown pot.

jkrane, post a pic if u can, wana see wut urs looks like

I wish I could post a pic, but I don't have a digital camera or a scanner . The M39 I get is never leafy. The buds are usually really hard, light green, full of crystals, dry, and tiny little stems at the base of the bud.

Some m39 is better than others. Im sure there is shitty M39 around. If the bud is raelly leafy, that means it wasn't manicured very well. I don't mind leafy weed, as long as there is crystally bud underneath. It all depends on how its grown. I get my bud from the same guy all the time.

I know M39 is not the best, because I've had much better. It's decent, average weed and very cheap so I have no complaints. 150/O.

Where in ontario are you from?

I think we are all allergic to it. It tends to make me cough, nose run, eyes get red and watery and I seem to get this feeling they call 'high'. Damn that marijuana and my allergies!

you probably got what's called "beasters" or "china weed". It is poorly grown, no-love buds, (commercial) grown by aisian gangs. not all m39 is like that. Some is shitty beasters, some can be quite good. any strain can be good or shitty depending on how its grown. You can have some swaggity-ass jack herer if grown poorly. I've smoked china bud before when I couldn't get anything else at the time and I don't like it either.

and u can hook up clones from people quite easily at $7 a clone.... and 100 clones for $5 and many different clone dealers here in montreal and i imagine all of quebec where the strain is popular.... that's why so many have it cause when u buy clones u usually get m39 clones and m39 always looks very similar the shiva skunk takes 55 days to flower instead of 40/45 and the nugs are less rock hard ..... the bud is more fruity, etc.. it's a big diff....
