I suppose the thing with the sk#1 relates to the breeding story too
The male everyone used was supposedly selected from 10,000 candidates.? |

Judging by the pictures of the greenhouses those buggers had I believe it.
Course doing it proper would take 10,000 days of testing, no?

for the females, no doubt
i can't remeber their selection criteria height, vigour, smell, finish time such a good male would override many femme genes, dont you think? and we choose our mothers carefully doesn't make sense i like a resistant, fragrant male; but not too vigourous let the femme genes rule, i say Destroyer by Canna Biogen would go on my list, almost all Thai gene's and one of the best trichome shots ever.

I'M BLIND!!!
Nice trich shot. The right... or wrong male can destroy everything you are looking for in a mom I would think. Some ugly ass recessive gene pops it's head out and you have a seed line that tosses hermies. Or worse, all males

subcool reckons it's all about recessive genetics
interesting to think on i mean, it's all from the same gene stock so everything is possible |

awesome macro find cerebro! what is a poly-hybrid? also i was hoping that one of you could point me to some information on how feminizing is done. i cant find hardly anything on the subject, i did see something from attitude seeds and greenhouse talking about it is done chemically. i am curious. have you guys tried?

oh and i really have to agree about the skunk#1 being bred with too much. take this with a grain of salt though, i've never grown it but it just seems sub par in terms of the quality you could get elsewhere these days.
XD my 2c on skunk

I think by poly hybrid Dandaweedman means plants which are the descendants of more than two stable IBLs (in bred lines). So say Jack Herer is a hybrid of Skunk, Northern Lights and Haze so it is a poly hybrid. Point being you should ideally conduct massive trial runs while breeding to find the best offspring and isolate the genes you want to keep, otherwise the seeds you end up with will be fairly random and usually of low quality. (lol I hope I got that right)
Feminised seeds are made by taking a female plant and stressing it so it hermaphrodises (can be done using chemicals like silver nitrate or gerbilic acid or any other means) then using the resulting pollen to fertilise itself (this is called selfing) or another female plant. Because all the sex chromosomes are feminine in theory all the offspring will be female.
