Best strains

I've been looking through various seed banks for the last few months and have been looking for a strain that is a vigorous grower and fast flowering (no auto strains tho). I'd be growing outdoors (soil, 5-10 gallon pots) in the midwest US (may-oct). I grew from seed last summer giving them full veg time (flowering at about 3-4 ft). Does anyone have any suggestions on strains that would do well in this climate?

Mighty mite, anything that has early girl in it and anything with Manitoba in the name.
Canadian breeders would be the best to check out. If they have sativa it should be a fairly quick finisher.

This year I'm gunna be running some rocklock from DNA genetics. Suppose to be a quick finisher and your similar to our climate so check that out might be intriguing.

I was looking at several different strains, mostly indica but would like to try a few sativa's as well. Has anyone attempted any in this climate? As much as i'd like to try a sativa dominant variety i am worried about it not flowering in these conditions.

Yes I've grown a sativa dominant strain and in my opinion, it's not something I would do if your really relying on this crop for. The risk of frost can sometimes be a little too high in my opinion.

Anyways best of luck

Thanks for the heads up. I may try a few sativas along with mainly indicas just to see how the end result is and if it's worth the extra wait. For the most part I've used bagseed and have gotten good results. My main concern is yield when choosing a strain. In the past I've gotten anywhere from 2-4 oz's per plant without any training when letting them fully veg. Is there any hope I could expect more per plant or would that be pushing it?

^ Well if your looking at yield the best I've gotten so far has been from KC BRAINS KC36.

From one plant outdoors I managed to yeild about 19 ounces. It wasn't the most potent thing I've done, but for the price it was a steal. it was a very good thing to grow and should also finish around mid to late October.

I've grown it indoors and would have to agree with your appraisal.

I jus took a look at the kc36 strain and it sounds like what I'm looking for

Did you use any training techniques with it to get it to produce like that?
