Re-vegging the Stone
Rosetta stone, a very frosty plant with a wonderful up "high".
Having clones with nice healthy roots in cups of water, I promptly tossed them out... they were after all just a test. ![]() The after a lot of interest in this strain and a lot of reading we decided to re-vegitate the best looking and smelling female to have some seed for a future grow. We haven't tried this before and have read that some plants respond quite well to being reborn, some on the other hand apparently get upset and either hermie or die. The re-veg started January 13/06, We harvested most of the bud and branches. Having read that we had to leave some green on the stem for new growth to come from... and not knowing how much to leave we thought it better to err on the side of too mah. At that stage it's bud we were leaving behind, if it doesn't work I would rather have smoked the leftovers .Here is a picture of her right after being harvested.

The next pictures we have are the 27th of January.
after 14 days the leaves are showing wear and tear and are drooping and yellow. Upon closer inspection there are rounded leaves reminiscent of the cotyledons growing out... you know, those first rounded leaves that show after germination? They too are covered in trichomes and are a rich green colour. A picture of her now.

What we are looking for I guess is something to take cuttings from.
I expect an experienced revegger to jump in any time and illuminate me

it takes a long time to get back to growing shoots and branches, thats why ppl dont do it a lot, it takes up space in the GR and you have to wait. ive only done it twice and thats my experience.
you just have to wait. |

WOW!! Dan, that's excellent!!
It takes two weeks to over a month for most re-vegging. You've only at your second week, and your lady is startin' to come back for ya already. I'd love to post some pics,,,,, if ya look at the contest thread I have not posted pics for sometime now. My connection is at 4k right now, even my phone is bad, lol. I'll see what I can do. You are doing great with this though, those "rounded" leaves will start to stretch and change caracter as time passes. Mine did the same thing, and it seemed like forever. Looking great Dan, really great.

Hey, that's good news. Another plus for this strain if she comes back easily.
Almost daily the rounded leaves are elongating and staying a very vivid dark green. So I guess the secondary branching will start from the nearest internodes from the cuts and work backwards? Like it was topped? Darn, I hate phone line problems... course I hate using the phone so I guess it doesn't effect me that much. But it can sure be frustrating when this don't work as they should

It's one of the things I have always wanted to try.
I understand why it is used as a last resort... big pot small area like V3d4 stated. Excellent for bringing back to life a plant whose clones have died or were murdered

your "second best" beats the hell out of most folks "first best ever". Just fact,, I've seen you and Jenna's plants, several places, always impressive. As I said before, I'm envious as hell, both of the plants,, and even more so of the partnership. :respect: Quote:
We may call it "RE-veg" if we wish, the plant says, "I have not made seed for the future, I MUST LIVE!" It's a part of the cycle of life. Had this plant been pollinated? I would have bet against what you're doing, I may have lost the bet, but, that would have been my bet. Anyways, I digress, getting back to the lady. she's gonna surprise you Dan, a very pleasant surprise. Branching is next, mine went almost like a "FIM". I was astounded, and delighted. ![]() Quote:
with the firewood tree strains. "Cobbled" I think is the word. I see the canna tree as similar to an old maple, under good circumstances, (no pollen) the canna has to come back, "It's all in the roots" as a friend of mine says. I cut a maple, she comes back,, she's not done. ![]() Your "Rosetta Stone" is gonna give you many daughters. ![]() Quote:
and yeah, with phones. I like the idea of a new address every day. Take Care, Stay Safe................ ......hyp

LOL murderer and the third coming all in the same thread?
Now I doubt this is the second best strain I have had, but it is a very very nicely balanced high. Excellent strength and taste with decent flowering times and a good high length... Hmmm one day I will type out the ones I liked from best to worst. I'll take more pics of the re-veg hunny tomorrow, it's moving right along.
