Our sincere condoloances go out to kens family, friends, and fellow activists. This is truely a sad event in the national MMJ movement. Ken stuck in there despite all the dangers he faced, dangers which we all face when we endeaver to take into our own hands the production of our own safe medical marijuana. Kens efforts have been one of constant struggle in the fight for the right to relief from pain through the therapudic use of MMJ. This man is a hero to us all, and his work should be continued by every activist that hears of his deeds. Keep up the fight, Yahooka~!

Ken welcomed me in one of my first posts to Yahooka in the Introduction forum. Right away I could tell what sort of man he was: kind and open, yet firm in his beliefs and the type that wasn't going to take much BS. That strong first impression stayed and was only got stronger as time has gone on. He was one of Yahooka's guiding lights, and while life moves on, Yahooka was always seem a bit dimmer now that his light is gone. I've always looked up to The Gov as a shining example of what this forum can be and how the people in this forum can make it and the world a better place. I will miss him. bongsmilie

I cant believe that I space this out,, I had forgotten about the interview that Ken Gorman had done with the bicyclists that were going cross country to petition for legalization, You may know them , they are J4J7 Journey for Justice 7. A great group of guys that came thru colorado last year. I took them to meet Ken and he agreed to be interviewed, and photographed. See his interview at
http://j4j7.info/MedicalTestimonies...stimoniesWM.htm if that doesnt work for you, try this one http://www.j4j7.info/ then click on testimonies,, you can find his video there! take care all and enjoy |

An elder from our tribe was murdered, and as we all guessed, the crime goes unsolved and the criminals go unpunished...
Where's the justice?

It is the secret of the world that all things subsist and do not
die, but only retire a little from sight and afterwards return again. Nothing is dead; men feign themselves dead, and endure mock funerals and mournful obituaries, and there they stand looking out of the window, sound and well, in some new strange disguise. Jesus is not dead; he is very well alive; nor John, nor Paul, nor Mahomet, nor Aristotle; at times we believe we have seen them all, and could easily tell the names under which they go. Ralph Waldo Emerson |

This is very late in coming, I realize, but I thought I would mention a small way in which Mr. Gorman influenced my life - although I never actually met him. I had just moved to Denver and was having an extremely difficult time getting by, working a low-paying night job, very socially isolated, and struggling with depression during one of the worst winters I've ever seen in Colorado. On top of it all, I hadn't been able to find any herb for a couple of months. I was lamenting this fact to one of the guys on the night crew and it turned out he was a recipient of Mr. Gorman's medicine, and gave me a sample.
I sat out on my porch after work in the frosty morning and smoked it (possibly the finest herb I have ever had), watching the sun rise, and letting my worries fade away. I felt good. That moment stands out in my mind. It was so overwhelmingly bright and clear and cold and peaceful. Thanks for that beautiful morning, Gov.

I couldnt help but feel sad when reading this...
Especially GH's post..."an elder from our tribe has been killed"... Sometimes I forget no matter how big of a dick I can be and shit, this is still our tribe and to lose one of us is almost unimaginable, especially one as good as ken... I have one bowl left...I think ill smoke it for him, his family, his friends and his contributions to our cause... |

ive never taken the time to pay my respects..
i cant pretend to have been personally familiar with Ken, but i do know what he stood for.. Liberty. it goes beyond cannabis.. its about liberty for people, and not respecting laws that are broken archaic relics of close minded thinking. thanks for that rest in peace
