Bump

I remember seeing a thread talking about this contraption a while back, but I couldn't find it. A friend of mine brought one of these over today and I got to try it, it's pretty expensive but definitely would be an option I'd consider to quit smoking cigarettes, it's pretty neat..

Comes as menthol as well as plain tobacco hah

place several rubberbands on your wrist,
snap the rubber band hard everytime you get the urge
and if you do light up a smoke, give yourself another snap before and after.
good luck! I quit for 12 years

buy one pack of cigs

remove some tobacco from half of them

insert a small firecracker

repack tobacco in the ends

place them randomly in the pack

have a smoke!

Take all the baccy out of your house, that will reduce the temptation to have a smoke. Good luck, and I know its hard...but with enough determination you can do it.
This is the truth!! No tapering, no substitutes, no nothing...just sheer will-power was the only thing that worked for me after 4 decades of tobacco smoking.
Doing a few bongs helps out a lot. Chewing tobacco? UGH!! Looks disgusting & the 1 time I tried it, I thought I was going to blow a lung thru my throat. The taste was terrible...I guess it's something that just grows on you...kinda like a fungus!!
Been tobacco free for 15 months now & will never restart. My wife is definitely paying a price though!!

For anyone willing to try: Lobelia tincture is supposed to be helpful when trying to give up tobacco. Also the root of Acorus calamus when chewed raw is supposed to help fight the cravings. Just a word of caution: it tastes bad. Google this stuff for more info.

Major props for being one of the people who is willing to do what it takes to be healthy. Have good health is the greatest asset one can have! So great job.

When I quit smoking cigeretees I went cold turkey. I have an addictive personality so for the first 2 weeks or so I started buying packs of gum (regular gum) so whenever I was hanging with friends, coworkers or family members who were smoking I would just pop in a piece of gum to I could at least be doing something; I've noticed for most smokers it starts as something to do and fidget with which is why the gum route definately will help.

Get it in your head that beating this is a major achievement for your will power and internal strength! Are you strong?

(After a month you will be MUCH better!)
