amputation isnt an option

this is a pretty long and unique story but its hitting me hard.

I was at a party on 4th of july and noticed my foot was swollen. Online research pointed to a textbook blood clot. At 22, Drs said its most likely in my gut or leg. after 4 moths of massive swelling, infection and discomfort (along with staggard 5 day stays in the hospital), they find it in my pelvis.

apparently during my puberty growth-spurt, my veins grew around and choked out my main artery.

for years there was no symptoms

then my lyphatic system shit the bed (july) causing all my unfilterd blood to sink to the lowest point on my body. Lyphedema. simple swelling condition thats easy to manage.

However, with the blood clot, my left leg is MUCH slower at returning the blood to my heart.

they want to put a steel artery in to balance my legs. ive been perscribed blood thinners to prepare for the operation.

i got about 50,000 in bills from all the tests and shit. Aquired Emergency Insurance from medicaid to pay it all. but its only good for a year....

no operation date in sight, insurance ending soon.

since its not life or limb threatning, no disability

ive been pushing myself to the limit trying to keep my 25 hour a week job

I had a positive outlook at first but a year of this shit is taking its toll physically and mentally. Dpression is creeping up.

its like no other bum leg...chilling isnt an option since its gravity thats pooling the blood. walking, sitting, standing all no-nos. i have to spend at least 12 hrs a day damn near upside down like a bat. its so frustrating i have to work with the lil time i can use my leg

i mean im no bitch, ive seen ppl w/o hands and legs and shit but i hate having the same limits as my 90 grandmother. i dont like admitting im a cripple.

Damn dude...I think you're taking it really well. That makes me sick about your insurance. Godspeed on receiving an operation. Oh man, yeah quit the cigs. I smoked for 40 yrs & have been quit almost 1 & 1/2 yrs. I feel way better.
