possible narcolepsy?

has anyone ever heard of a person falling asleep while talking on the phone... and then continuing to to talk and not realizing that they had fallen asleep? this happened to me today. I was talking to my girlfriend and then all i remember is halfway through our conversation she called me back (I thought i was still talking to her) crying and asking what was wrong with me, and I had no idea what had even happened... this really freaked me out...

I've had this happen to me before. Usually it only happens at night time. Got an active mind?

narcolepsy is the lack of a chemical in your brain that keeps you awake. i am a narcoleptic and things like this happen to me. i'll be driving, and have no recollection of the past few minutes. it's called automatic behavior. i would recommend seeing a sleep specialist if this persists.

ive been known to talk and hold somewhat coherent conversations in my sleep, but i cant say its happened while on the phone..

how tired are you? you could just be exhausted and then a relaxing phone conversation just puts the lights out for a minute...
