You and Mookie almost are neighbours, Roach is a Pittsburgher, and you aren't too far west of that I believe...you could actually try to meet the illusive Roach-o

Don't drop the class unless you are absolutely sure it will be necessary. You will not get your money back, I can pretty much promise you that.

I had a nutrition class once that I was really looking forward to. I'm into that type of thing, so I thought it would be fun. But my teacher turned out to be a fucking NUT. We never used the book (which I read on my own, and it contained lots of valuable information that actually related to nutrition, what a concept!). Instead, he had us do all of our assignments based on these crazy websites concerning politics and conspiracy theories. For example, we had to write an essay discussing how much we agreed (even if we didn't) with a website claiming that the government is using soy to slaughter our babies.

Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy conspiracy theories as much as the next person. Even if I don't believe them, it's fun to think about the possibilities. But that's not the class I signed up for. All I wanted to do was learn about food in relation to the human body, a class about science rather than opinions. When our first test approached and he refused to give us any idea of what we should be studying, I dropped the class. And when I tried to get a refund, I was told that it was my own fault for not discussing my problems with him first. But to be honest, I just didn't even want to look at the crazy bastard any longer, let alone debate with him about the fact that he's a horrible teacher who tries to force his views down the throats of his students. So rather than the school taking responsibility for hiring a total weirdo who didn't do his job at all, I had to eat a few hundred dollars. I learned a tough lesson from that one, so I just wanted to pass it on to you.

The truth is, college professors can be some of the most arrogant, self-assured people on the planet. I have loved most of my teachers, but I also get the feeling that being stubborn and dead-set in your ways are qualities often held by people in this profession. Good luck with the class, man. I hope it works out for you.

Where I go there is generally a time during which you can drop and get a full refund, followed by a period with a 50% refund, after which, yeah you're fucked. Pretty shitty teacher though AL.

1.Not yet, first Be sure you are not the only one having a problem keeping up.There should be a majority.
2.Possibly, depends on his status, other concerns.
3.I and my class mates in a college algebra class could not understand a newly hired Indian math instructor . As a group of signees we petitioned to have him replaced. He was fired and were were moved from a class of thirtysomething to an amplified lecture hall of over 400. Sometimes you loose when you win.
You didn't understand the way he was teaching the material, or you didn't understand the way he was talking?

Sage - I hang out with a Pittsburgh Yahookan from time to time, its always a good time haha.

AnimalLover - Thanks for the nice wishes and the story. Yeah if I dropped on Monday I'd get 75% back but I wouldn't know how I did on this test(cuz it's on monday) so it would be pointless. So I'm gonna ride it out and learn from the book if he continues on his path to sucking.

Mikey & Mookie - In my class I had an Indian math instructor and it was his first week in America. He was a nice cool guy, but understanding him was a problem at times so we made him write everything on the board haha.

I guess you can't really expect every teacher to be a good teacher. Thats kind of why I want to be a teacher. I just would only want to be a college professor little kids scare me.

I think he did on the first day. It's just when a teacher says that I normally assume if the class is lagging maybe they'll slow down or if the class is ahead maybe they'll speed up. Not like lightning speed haha.

All I know is I have this test tomorrow and because I was so frusterated with the pace, I've been studying every day. So I better do good or I'm gonna have to just go harder.

Maybe it's just one of those your doing so damn well your over-thinking everything and go with the flow situations.

Sorry for the bad picture, but it's pics or it didn't happen with you folks. I got a 92 with a class average of 70, so the teacher added 3 points to everyone's score. So I got a 95%. I'll do better next time.

So looks like I was right, a lot of the class did very poorly considering I got the second highest grade.
Thanks for the encouragement and the wisdom of waiting it out, looks like 1/3 of the course was feasible to learn in two-three weeks.
