Please send good vibes
Within the last hour one of my best friends tried to kill himself right in front of me. He was in an argument with his fiance and sliced his wrist down to the bone. The wonderful thing is that he is still alive and in the hospital because we got him help right away. Please pray/send good vibes for my friend and myself as I try to figure out how to deal with what I just saw. Has anything similar happened to anyone here? How did you deal with it?

I've found a friend after trying to overdose on percocets and I was so sure he was dead, it's such a blessing today that he was not.
I'm really sorry you witnessed that, but that is probably the worst thing anyone could ever see. The worst part is already over. It may come back to you in your dreams. But it's only to remind you how strong you are. Try your best to take care of your friend, remind him that no person is worth his life but himself. Much love, and much good vibes to you, your friend, and your friends fiance. May you all find sanctuary, and peace.

i'm really sorry to hear that. it's never bearable to see anyone to be in so much pain that they turn to suicide. now he's going to be branded with a scar to remind himself of how dumb of an impulsive idea that was. at least he's still alive though.
last year, my friend's boyfriend hung himself. she was so distraught that she overdosed on pills and killed herself too. she and i weren't really close, but i still went to her funeral and it was the most depressing atmosphere i've ever been in. that same week, the girl i work with had a dad who was getting married to a woman and she shot herself in the head a few days before the wedding. thennn a few days after THAT, my friend's father killed himself too. i was telling my best friend about all this, and then she told me that her friend's father also killed himself that same week. it was pretty weird that all these people were getting picked off one by one.. but ANYWAY. the point is, i lived in complete emotional pain for a good two weeks straight, and almost every single person around me was in pain as well. i truly hope your best friend doesn't try to do something like that again, because he really does not understand how bad it would effect the people who love him.. and even the people who barely even know him. |

Hey ya'll thanks for the support. He's doing good now, he ended getting 34 stitches without them giving him anything for the pain, yikes! I talked to him, basically he just wanted attention from his gf and although he knew he was cutting himself he was so fucked up on k-pins that he didnt know how deep he was doing it and ended up going all the way through the muscle. This was definately a lesson to learn from, he knew it was a mistake as soon as he did it...sometimes it takes horrible things like this for us to learn things the hard way, I don't think he'll take his life for granted again. life is a wonderful thing and this has taught him and myself to value it that much more.

I've got the good vibes going on, glad to hear he's alright.
I would be super pissed if my friend did that, I would kick his ass as soon as he got better then buy him a couple beers.
