It depends what your car looks like to be honest. hahah Does it at least get good gas mileage??? Seriously, if your car is a piece of shit, take the fucking car. 1) He's not trying to degrade you, hell he might even know that you don't like him. 2) You might have a better chance of not being pulled over with a nicer car. 3) Chances are you'll be able to save money on gas and maintenance fees.

we have a fairly new xtrail, but the insurance is 300 a month

this is a dodge k-car, a good shape beater but the insurance would be super mad cheaper itll probably be like 300 a year or something

but its the principle
and i dont want it.

i can get my shit on my own.
although what sage said about buying it off him for cheap sounded good but i have to stand my ground as im fucking appalled thatd he'd even have the balls to do that so fuck that shit not principle

seriously man, take the car. this just sounds like a case of one human being trying to be nice to another regardless of relationship. don't think of it as a bad thing, it could be an angle that's helping you before something bad happens. you seriously never know, you might need this thing some day dude. even if you don't want it I'm sure he wouldn't be hurt if you took it and sold it. hahah

update:

I want to thank everyone, very deeply from the bottom of my heart for replying to this thread and giving me their 2 cents. It felt real good to read real people's real feelings about my situation.

I ended up buying the car from the guy for 200 bucks.

Long story short
our car insurance expired
our current cars insurance was 1000$ for 3 months
and this beatiful beater was less then 300$ for 3 months

so i had to put my principles aside. beat as much sense into it my mind as i could, (cause money is always money, who gives a shit? i never cared for money but i kinda have to put that kind of sutff aside when you have a family to support you actually start to count every dollar you spend) and still I was stubborn and wouldn't take it for free agreed on a 200$ price tag

since then got it insured it runs real nice

1987 plymouth reliant

a good ole dodge k-car

the odomoeter says 84400
but it only goes up to 99000
god knows how many times it rolled over in 22 years
(speaking of which this car is as old as me, we have the same bday)

so yeah
i took the car
i didn't wanna take it
but i did cause i had to, and sometimes you gotta put your family first ahead of your principles i guess.
