If you see your life as a series of turbulent waves, back up, you're looking at it too closely.

You'll never learn anything with your mouth open. (not entirely true but said in an effort to get me to shut up and listen.)

Never cut your own bangs

There is a purpose for underwear.

HPS lights aren't meant for tanning.

Two from my first summer working:

When I started at McDonald's way back when I was 16, there for about 6 months. During that time, a long timer there said:

I'll be damned.... 99% of the time she was right.
And it doesn't matter the tool you got to lean on.
I found, I ended up doing something with it, so even if I was giving myself a 'self appointed' break, I was still up to something.

Also that same summer I worked for my Grama, she said :

Not like a heavy multi-task, just see if you can empty a waste can or deliver materials for someone, stuff like that. In gardening, when you go to the truck for something you forgot... ask others if they need you to grab something for them too, since most times something was forgotten or an extra tarp was needed

The best advice I ever gave was probably something I didn't say.

Listening is a skill for sure.
