Thanks for the reply's, it has been ten days now since I started this tread and I must say that things have really changed

I don't know if they have changed for the better, but at least my life isn't boring anymore

The last days I have spend a lot of time out of the house, leaving my wife alone in the evening, but because I work late and she goes to sleep early she doesn't really mind if I'm gone during the week.

She even seems a lot happier because I'm not so depressing anymore.

A quick recap of what happend in ten days.
  • The girl I met ten days ago has become one of my best friends
  • I have spend at least 7 days at local bars (getting really drunk every night)
  • I have only smoked weed during the weekend (I have smoked daily for 10 years)
  • I have a lot of new friends
  • I have been to amsterdam
  • I haven't played online poker once
  • I have spend the whole sunday with my wife
  • I have started listening to punk music (the music I listend to 10 years ago)
  • I have started a diet and have lost some weight (I'm not really overweight, but I'm starting to get a beerbelly )

It's hard to remember how sad and depressed I was ten days ago, but you guys made me realize that if I wanted to feel better, I had to change things before it was really to late

I must admit that I had a lot of help from my new "best friend" (let's call her Suzy), I started this thread on sunday, and on monday it was really nice weather and a holiday over here. Normally on a holiday I would stay at home and play poker, but because of all that happend I went out and decided to go and do something. I didn't really knew what, but because my dad was out of the country I decided to go get his car (BMW Z4) and have a drive with the top down.

After a 15 minute drive I see Suzy and two friends walking, so I stopped, said hi from the car but I couldn't park at that place and had to drive on after just saying "hi".

I decided to send her a text message saying I was bored and if she mind if I would come with them to smoke a joint in the park. She texted back that they were in the park and told I could join them.

Over there I met her friends and we stayed there till the evening, then she asked me if I would come with her to the bar were her boyfriend worked, so I did and I met a lot of other friends of her. And after one day I had done more than the past year.

And the rest is just me going back to that bar...

I have also been out with some colleagues, something that I had never done before, and I have gone with an old friend to amsterdam on friday (friday used to be pokernight - even if people would ask me to come with them to amsterdam)

So I would like to say thanks to everybody who has replied on this thread!!
and for those who feel unhappy with their life's -> life isn't going to change itself, but things can go really fast once you start to make changes

PS: sorry for my english, it isn't that good when I'm sober, but now I'm drunk...
