Well, got another email from the Prez today.... saying he understood the meeting went well, what did I think? Was everything to my satisfaction? Would I come in whistling to work every morning? Did he handle everything right? Was the meeting room comfortable and in the right atmosphere? Shit, now I'm not sure what to do... Should I just say, yeah, everything is fine and keep looking for something else? Or tell him the truth, and face more BS? Not to mention, Friday, I wasn't there, I had a vacation day, they sent out an email, starting random drug testing again. Yesterday, they took carloads of 5 at a time, 10 total to be tested. I wasn't one of them, but it had only been 4 days since I had a little, so I tested myself when I got home, and I was clean

i would tell the pres honestly what you feel. he seems like the kind of guy who can handle it. the reality is you aren't being treated like a valuable employee and you might be better off at another company. being ordered to tell him everything is alright, regardless of what you think, is a sure sign that trying to fix what you think is wrong could be a problem for the gm. he is trying to save face, because its probably going to be on him if things need to change.

disclaimer: i have no experience with office politics. i am just calling it the way i see it

Please realize that you are expendable in the grand scheme of things if you do not possess skills that demand attention, if you're just another paper pushing fish in a really big pond then find the rock no one looks under and live there, if this isn't satisfactory to you then you are in the wrong place and should do your best to get somewhere else.

I wish you luck in whatever you choose.

So they don't want to lose you but no one can be bothered to do anything?

I'd look around for other jobs- seems like you've got your shit together and they haven't.

thanks fg I think what it is, Corp/Prez doesn't want to lose anyone, but they have already told us a couple of times,in the US, if you don't like it, find another job. There are big differences in the way the US and NL do things. I've been looking for something else for a few months, not much out there, there are some. I've gotten a few inquiries, but they didn't want to meet my pay, or they were too far away, night shift etc....
