had a really bad day @ work

first thing is, they don't put this kid on the schedule for next week, and this kid worked his tail off every night, and his last night he worked superhuman hard

when the manager comes in(late) and the kid asks him why he ain't on the schedule they fire him..not one person on the crew thought it was fair, and it wasn't

it was because he was black and people thinking they're above the law, (or a law ontothemselves) because of a job title

and so, hating injustice as i do: got all emotional, words were exchanged(i just got off the phone with a union rep they'll be a grievence hearing sometime next week)

that would be my grievence(technicall y i'm fired, & didn't even have to work half as hard as the black kid

Don't get me wrong, I applaud your stand and probably might have done the same thing but we're just pissing in the wind.

Life in this country used to be kinda fair, took about 185 years to get there and the politicos tried it out for about six or eight years and found it was non cost effective...

holy shit dude, kami actually shares some real life stories for once.

sorry to hear it man, thats cool that you stood up for the dude, takes some balls.

your way better off than if you werent in a union thats for sure. the bulshit that unions get away with may be destroying our economy and competitiveness but from the point of view of a person in the union (like you) you might as well enjoy the shit you get out of it... prolly end up either reinstated, transferred with no pay cut, or able to collect like 2/3s of your wage for doing nothing.

especially if its a black dude that got fired, and a white person who fired him , and if they really cant show any cause whatsoever...

you guys need to pick a lawyer to make yourselvess and himself some money cuz this sounds like a case worth taking

i didnt mean that in a rude way. i dont begrudge him the situation hes in. I mean in a macro sense its not good is what i was saying... but for my friend kami who ive known on here for a while, im happy for him that hes in a good situation and able to get those benefits. i mean shit, if someone asked me to join a union i probably would be glad to get the opportunity.
