I'm the same way. I used to get shitfaced all of the time. I enjoyed it. I loved it. It was my pleasure. I'd go out and spend 100-120 bucks at the bar easy. If I went to a house party, I'd let people know I'm crashing there in advance. Then the drinking would begin. It got so bad that I'd drink a case of beer and then demand someone take me to the store to get some more, or i'd walk, or I'd just start taking other peoples drinks. Right out of their hands some times. And I would do this as often as possible, 3, 4,5 times a week. My life revolved around it. It effected every part of my life, i started doing shitty in school, didnt care about work, or job quality. barely talked to my family, etc. After years of this behavior luckily I got burnt out on it. I finally realized I couldn't handle the lifestyle i was living. I knew the only way to stop it was to just stop it. Not put myself in situations were I could get back into that garbage. It was so hard to stop. It has been a good 7 or 8 years now since I used to drink like that. But about 8 months ago, I went to a party that some of my wife's co-workers were throwing. I brought i six pack for us. They went down with the quickness. ( I was supposed to be DD this night too). Before I knew it, people were handing me drinks left and right, and I got right back into the I LOVE DRINKING GET OUT OF MY WAY WHERES MY NEXT DRINK insanity. THe as 2 or 3 hours of the party i dont remember. THe last thing i remember of that night was doing shots of jack, (1/3 of a solo party cup sized) and chasing it with SoCo. But i was having fun at the time. Then, from what my wife told me. We got in the truck (she drove) after driving about 300 feet, i told her to stop and puked out of the window. No problem there. when we were 2 minutes from the house, she said i started mumbling incoherently and the started puking all over myself, all over the truck, in the door pockets, on the seat belt....it was not a good night. She had to help me down a flight of stairs at the apartment, help me shower and then help me get to bed. also that night, i pissed in the hamper at some point. I have so many stories like this. and while I had so much fun when i was drinking, looking back at all the shit i've done, Im surprised im still alive, or havent killed someone esle. Lots of drinking and driving and drugging. The only was that i found myself able to stop, is just to avoid the situations, no bars, no parties and so on. yeah it makes for a boring time, but it's what I have to do. Now if I'm at home I dont have a probelm having a few beers. but then agian, home is a safe place for me and there is no peer pressure here. I hope you are able to figures you self out man. just know that you are not alone. There are alot of people out there just like us. It's a destructive behavior for sure. It's easy for people to say, "why dont you just pace your self" but it's just not that simple. I know for me, atleast now, the only way to not drink like that is to not put myself in that kind of situation. If you want to, you can stop that behavior. You just have to dedicate you self to it. sorry if this is allover the place, hope it helps.
