I just quit recently.

I'm still chewing the gum.

I may go back to smoking.

I miss it.

Quit cold turkey last thursday. Had a butt out of my ashtray yesterday, was totally grossed out by it. Fantasized about buying a fresh pack of roll-up all the way to the store, then left with just my snacks.

Feels good.

Meh.. I started up over the holidays.. so back to the start now! heh

I fooled myself into thinking that I could get away with smoking whilst drinking about three weeks into it. One late night of drinking and I was back to smoking in the day time.

Tomorrow is the day to start being a non-smoker again.. also going to throw in plenty of exercise and better eating too. THIS TIME! hahah

E-CIGARETTES: Top-Rated Electric Cigarette | Green SmokeŽ

These are really nice. My roommate was a smoker and switched to them.

I rarely smoke a cig but hit these all the time when chilling with him.

Menthol and mocha are the best.

Good luck guys!!

was at the gasparilla parade yesterday, on methoxetamine. friend was smoking, I asked for a drag, because those types of drugs used to make me love to smoke.

Not this time.

tasted terrible, didn't get any pleasure from it.

Feels good. I was drunk as well, and as many can testify, that's usually how it begins (again) when i let it happen.

Good luck everyone.

Is it really the nicotine these people are trying to quit or just the health issues from smoking?
Resolves almost all of these issues

1. I feel breathless at times
2. I hate the fact that I'm a pussy addict in the first place
3. I'm tired of trying to hide the smell from my students
4. I'm a hypocritical dick for teaching about the dangers of smoking when I do it myself
5. It supresses my appetite too much
6. It would save me money (not much.. but still)
7. I hate how my smoke affects others in the vicinity
8. I don't like littering with my cig butts
9. I'm sick of having ash all over the computer and desk and cleaning ash trays etc.
10. My family hate it

Yeah its true that it covers most.. but it is probably just as expensive.. and well meh.. I want to quit.. not just transfer the habit (even though it would be much easier). Nicotine gum and patches also cover most aspects.. but I just don't care for any of it I guess. I'm sure that for others though that these things would be great! To each their own aye.

Good luck back everyone!

Yeah I quit cigs recently also, been smoking since I was 14(23 now). Was getting to be too much on my body and pockets. I really could see them taking a toll on me. Got to the point where I was spitting huge chestnut colored loogies every morning. Even if it wasn't for that I really started to not like myself for continuing to smoke them, even though I knew I was getting no enjoyment at all from them....was fuckin disgusting having that in the back of my head as I'm just lightin away.....

Well its been 3 months and some days and it feels good. Supernatural taste and smell are definitely there and my sweet tooth has come back like a bitch, lovin it all though. Still hard when all of my friends smoke but holding out like a rider lol. Have no problems with drinking and not smoking, only thing that was a challenge was when I was had some coke lol..pressed on tho. I'm always fuckin with my friends and tellem shit like " NO, what you really need to do is stop those damn cigs" lol its all in good fun tho.

If you really feel like you need help though, call that 1800 NOBUTTS line...they will send you a free pack of nicotine patches, after some questions about your smoking...They helped out alot..the patches that is. Anyways good luck to everybody with quitting, you started..you can stop it!

I failed last time.

Good news is.. I'm nearly one week off them now.. and much more dedicated this time round. I have a baby boy now.. and I made him a promise.

My appetite is back with a vengeance and I'm loving my new level of fitness already. I'm pumping the weights at home so I can turn my inevitable weight gain into a nicely sculpted physique.

No luck needed this time. It's already been done. I am a non-smoker now. Now it's matter of trying to improve the rest of my body/mind and stop treating it like shit.

How's everyone else going? Are you still non-smokers? Or is anyone thinking of trying or wanting to.. ehhahe?

M

Oh I didn't mention how I did it this time..

I got some nicotine gum. The thing is.. when I stopped cold turkey.. when I had a craving, what I thought about was.. not taking the gum.. instead of not having a smoke. It was like a safety barrier in a way. So for a week, I've had this gum in my pocket.. knowing that if the urge get's strong enough.. I can just have some gum. I still have a full packet in my pocket! Pretty great eh.

I've been smoke free for about a year now. Had a few cigarettes throughout the last year but could count them on one hand so no big deal. Sometimes I want one yeah but fuck it, not worth it.

That's basically how I have smoked since 2002.
I quit completely for 2 years though.

They're a lot like other addictions. I get cravings pretty frequently, for cigarettes and worse, but being aware that it's a passing craving and holding out for five or so minutes allows the desire to pass.

I also feel stronger for not succumbing to temptation of worthless things.
