I'm pissed beyond pissed and I can't do anything about it!

I am really upset and pissed... I hate when bad things happen to good people, because of bad people... and something bad happened to some really good people I know and I can't get it out of my system. Not bragging at all, but maybe some of it is because I am a Marine and I feel I can do what needs to be done, I WANT TO! but I can't... ever since I was in the Marines and gotten out, I felt if anyone hurt anybody I cared about, I would fuck them up majorly, I mean literally, pull their fucking eyeballs out of the socket and make them eat them, before I body slammed them 200 or 300 times until they were pulp, and then turn the flame thrower on them.....
This elderly Korean man and his wife run this little store, less than a mile from my house, he is 70 and she is 68. He was an architect in Korea, but when they came to the US, they wouldn't recognize his schooling/credentials, so they bought this little store and have been there 22 years. It's not much of a store, not exactly a convenience store, they have gas, three of those slot machines, sell lottery tickets, one of those kind of places that have a stray bag of sugar on the shelf that looks like it's been there since 1990... it was an old gas station.

But these people are so nice, everyone likes them. Every time I go in, Mr. Bae asked what is going on... he loves to hear about my honeybees and things in my greenhouse. He said he wanted honeybees, but I think changed his mind, when he realized it was so much work, but I gave him my book, "First lessons in beekeeping". He has told me things about Korea I never knew. Neither can speak great english, but he does better than her...

They work long hours, I have passed him going to work (when I was working) at a little after 7am and he was headed to the store and they are there until 9-10pm at night, 6 days a week.

Thursday night as he was closing up the store, some piece of shit, shot four times through the door and hit him, once in the shoulder, in the stomach and nicked his ear. He called 911 laying on the floor. His wife worrying why he wasn't home yet, went to look for him, and came up with all the sheriff's cars there and went hysterical. They had to take him to another major city for surgery, but I think he will be ok...his son talked to the news people, and now they are thinking of closing the store because they are afraid.

The news said it was an attempted robbery, but I don't think so. For one, if it was late, they could of just went in and held him up. Two-if they saw him closing the store they could of just stopped him outside and held him up. three- why would someone shoot through the door, if they were planning on robbing him?

In the last year, there was a thing in the newspaper about how our area was a hot bed for gangs, everyone was shocked, I never realized it... of course I live outside of city limits. But I have lots of kin around here and I have never heard anyone mention it. This came out after there was two car loads of punks shooting at each other going down the street in town. They say, there is approx. 6,000 people in our area in gangs and they have requested money and help from the FBI to help fight them....

To me, this sounds like some shit some punk gangster would do, for initiation, or just to make himself look like a badass. Or I even wondered if Mr. Bae had been threatened to pay for protection and refused....

Me and my wife would like to go see them, we haven't been to their house before and don't know when he will be out of the hospital. I told her, if they plan on keeping the store, I will offer to be up there every night with them, when they close, with my assortment of toys I just wished those son of a bitches would pull something with me there!!!!!

If they decide to sell it, if I could manage the financing, I would buy it from them. It would go kinda in some plans I have been trying to make of my own.

I just feel so sorry for them, and angry. They didn't deserve this!! I posted the article from the news and mentioned how upset I was on my fb page and not one person said a word... my wife said, it was a shame there were so many bad people in the world now, and my sister "liked" it, other than that, not a peep of support, anger or anything else from anyone. I just need some way to get this out of me....

What kind of asshole would shoot a sweet old korean shop owner?

Having a friend like that must be awesome, I'm pissed with you now.

That is what happens in a country where you can buy fire arms with your groceries on the high street. Just sayin'.

sad...

i grew up in Houston, Texas, and unfortunately, the crime rate here is so bad that this kind of thing rarely even makes the news here, anymore.
i got stabbed in my back, (literally!), when i was 13 yrs old. put me in a chair.
the boy who stabbed me was 14, (i had never met him before, just walking home, minding my own business, and fell for his trap), and it was in 1977. so he never even went to jail for it. nice, huh?!
its been down hill ever since. i live in the country, north of Houston, now, closer to Huntsville, on a lake. dont know if God himself, could get me to move back to the city.
and more gun control isnt the answer.
i am sorry for the store owners. and it is beautiful that you want to do something to help, but pick your battles carefully, because, if you get yourself hurt or killed, you wont be able to help anyone.. including your wife!
...and before you invest too much money into that store, should they decide to sell it, make sure it is a sound investment in yours, and your wife's future. maybe you could stock it better, and make it a better place. but dont do it just to make a statement. you will be paying that loan off long after you're done making your point. you have to think of your wife now too, and even if shes on board, right now, you have to make sound decisions for both of your futures.
pick your battles carefully.
be safe! and prayers to the store owners.

thanks... but no, if I bought it, it wouldn't be to make a statement. I have been out of work since Jan., with back problems, trying to get disability, but not sure if I can. And if I can't I don't know what I will do. I have been thinking of trying to open a business of my own, maybe like a farmer's market, and I make home made soap and lip balm, I could sell there. I would probably get rid of some of what they have and have a little bit of it all.

Well, had a nice surprise! We got to see Mr. Bae from the Triangle store, that was shot about a month ago. He looks weak, and said his hand isn't very strong. He was shot 4 times by some scumbag. He went to open the door and they shot and hit him, so he closed the door and they shot 3 more times. He got hit once in the chest, once in the stomach, once in the arm and one nicked his ear. they haven't decided if they are going to keep the store open or not, I don't blame him, he is 70 years old....He got the card, and soap and lip balm we sent him.. was really nice to see him.

I'm glad he's doing well. Shot 4 times at age 70? It's lucky he's alive.

thanks mn I really don't know about gunshots, but I'm sure an older person takes longer to heal for anything... but I saw two of his wounds and they are still scabbed over. The bullet creased his ear, I mean you can see the line on the upper part, and the nick it took out of the curled edge of his ear. And his arm he had a bandage on it still, but I could see the raised red swollen area sticking out of the bandage, it was about 5 inches back from his wrist. He said his hand is slightly numb and he doesn't have much strength/grip in it....

Just to show you how much the media is wrong? For one, they said he was shot 3 times, I went by the store and saw 4 bullet holes in the door! number two, they said he was shot in the shoulder, stomach and nicked on the ear. He wasn't shot in the shoulder, it was the chest and they never mentioned the arm....and they also claimed it was attempted robbery...a man his age? They could of just went in right before he closed and robbed him, or waited for him to come out the door, pulled a gun and made him go inside and give them the money... these asses were waiting outside for him. And like I told the cops (I called the sheriff) if your going to rob someone, you ain't gonna just shoot through the door, then you don't know if the man inside is hit or not, if he has a gun or not and even a dumbass crook wouldn't go in the door after he shot and don't know the answer to those questions....
