Really need some love and prayers here....

Some folks might not agree with this, I don't really care... askin' for prayers for my "child". I had to take her back to the vet this mornin' and it's not looking good. She was worse this morning, I thought it was the medication they gave her, they said they didn't give her any medication. I took her back at 10:30, the vet says it's not looking good. She thinks her liver is enlarged, but all her other stuff looks ok. It sucks, it happened so fast, yesterday morning she was fine, now the vet said she tries to be optimistic, but it doesn't look good. She got her to drink some water and fed her some, but it came back up..... I don't have kids, so she is like my "child". It's been really rough today, we are prayin' and that's about all we can do.

Up date- yesterday they said Sadie perked up somewhat. I went to visit her yesterday morning. I got her to drink some water, but she still won't eat, they tried and I tried. They are somewhat at a loss as to what is wrong, her liver is fine as is her pancreas and kidneys. They said could possibly have a tumor or slight blockage in her intestines. We went back to see her last night, she purrs when you rub her and rubs her head against your hand when you stop, but she keeps her head down, not looking at anything or anyone. We brought fresh cooked chicken fingers and snacks, she still wouldn't eat, they have force fed her with a syringe and she is keeping it down, but she won't eat on her own....waiting to hear from the doc this morning....

Well, they re-did the blood test, which they haven't done since Weds., and say something is destroying her red blood cells, possible something cats can catch from a tick that has bitten a bobcat. She was very anemic and weak, so they gave her new meds to fight the disease or whatever it is and gave her a blood transfusion. They say she is looking better and resting, we will hear again around 4-5pm... (fingers crossed)

Ticks are absolutely out of control. I had one on me a couple days ago, fucker hitched a ride on my dog and then bailed to eat me instead. I wish we could have a really late freeze just to nuke those savages.

I hate putting the drops on my dog too, its obvious she doesn't like it but theres simple no better way.

Thank you sir! Personally? I feel we are wrong to look down on animals (yes, most people do) Just because we don't understand their language, thoughts, motivations, doesn't mean they are dumb, stupid or any other derogatory term. We see all the time, they have feelings, like we do, they feel pain, like we do. When ever there is that connection with an animal, it should be cherished, it's something special, you kinda understand each other to a point.

The bad part is, they are a little better than us, in my opinion... they love unconditionally. If you are mean to them, unfortunately they still come to you, tail wagging, purring, rubbing against you, looking for your affection, it's not they are afraid of you, it's not they know you feed them.... I really don't know what it is, but a lot of us don't deserve it....

And now for the good news! Well look who got to come home today!
thanks for all the prayers! Of course she's eating up all the extra attention
Got to go back tomorrow for a check up.

The vet said before they gave Sadie the transfusion, some kind of blood count they use was 12, which is real low. And she didn't think about it at the time, but between the time they decided to give her a transfusion and actually did it, her blood level had dropped lower. So after the transfusion, she was hoping it had come up to at least 20, but it was only 18. Monday when we went back for a checkup, it was at 24! The vet was thrilled!!

Now to say this... this vet is a lady with two cats, she went home, which I think could have been a little bit of a drive, 15-20 miles and brought her two cats to use for a transfusion for Sadie!! I love this woman!! She is AWESOME! (yeah, I said it!)

And then she had an assistant call today and check up on Sadie to see how she was doing... She is taking antibiotics and vitamins + iron, so she is eating like a horse and sleeping mostly (well, she is 80 years old in human years!). We take walks, went down to the garden yesterday, and then she sit with me on the porch awhile... she came out and sit with me in the back yard this evening....

Not quite your area but close enough was the craziest tick experience ive had. Camping with dogs in the woods somewhere near Roanoke VA

Holy shit the amount of ticks on those dogs was insane. Us too but the dogs were absolutely covered. .

I actually thought i gots lynes disease or some shit from.one due to the mark it left but doctors said nah.
