Torn between work and doing What You ReallyWant

I'm not going to make it to Comic Con tomorrow
I'm mad at myself
I'm so exhaust from work that I didn't finish my painting deadline. I have some done but not all finished. I was so tired last night I was slurring my speech.

I will think of a new idea of what to do with the paintings/ work I've put into this show.

I'm torn between doing what I love and making a living.

I'm losing at doing what I love.

There is hope. I am just so tired.

Will look for a venue elsewhere...somethin g will happen.

Gotta figure out a way to combine the two. Survive off your painting.

Turm i really think the answer is selling your stuff online. Not only selling the original pieces, but also various prints, posters, covers, phone cases, clothes etc etc.

There is serious money in this and people a lot less skilled than you make a living doing it.

turm, I feel for you. I really do.

And guys, It's too much pressure to expect turm to learn a whole new skill set while she's trying to raise and support 4 kids, plus herself. Quite frankly, I'm amazed she has enough time and energy to do her art at all. Done bitching.

What I would like to see is someone who has those skills to work with turm to do those things she hasn't got time to do. Let turm concentrate on her art, while the other person sets up web sites, has prints made and all the other stuff you all suggested (which I totally agree with). Just an idea.

Mother is right, as usual. Turm , you should be proud of yourself. Battling addiction in itself is a full time job. If I had any knowledge whatsoever about computers I'd gladly help. Hang in there, you are doing great.

Quoted so it lasts in the yahookan records even if he runs away from his duty like a coward.

Well whoever here is most suited to the task and wants to. I haven't set up an e shop before although I've done some reading and it's certainly something I can do.

I read several articles so far and apparently it is a very good idea to have a Facebook page at least for your art, and have that work in conjunction with a storefront. Storefront for facilitate the buying process, social media for networking / advertising.

an etsy store or something similar isn't hard to set up. proof by the blithering idiots that operate quite a few of them.

Lack of sleep is dangerous, turm. You can dream of painting, but you cannot paint sleep. Your health and motor functions will suffer, then your memory and it could get worse. It may be time to take a break from the love until your sleep debt is paid.

I have a facebo page.
I went to Comic Con
It was huuuuuge

I talked to the man who put it all together. He said I could sell my art and n his comic book store. It's right under my studio.

Also it be had people wanting to buy my tree painting that is already sold but still hanging n the cafe in n our town so I am taking a bunch of paintings there tomorrow.

She said she could have sold it three x over.
To people with money.

Next year apparently Comic Con is already booked and is going to be twice as big and they are having it at a bigger venue.

I didn't see anything remotely close to what I was doing either which was cool.

I think I let fear take over which is the truth.

Plus I am exhausted.

But fear mostly.

Way to go, Turm! Congrats on the success and making it to Comic Con! So awesome. What you're doing is a lot of much work, been contemplating this myself too lately.

Sometimes you need a breather and that's O.K. too. It doesn't mean you're giving up, but it's nearly impossible to function well when too burnt out or stressed.

Turm, I don't have faith in much, but I have faith in your success! Good job!!! Ask yourself this though, is it better to burn out or to fade away..... j/k, both of those options suck, you will find your balance.

your shit is awesome turm. if you hadn't have gone to comicon you would be able to sell your stuff anywhere and/or eventually online or probably even on yahooka . i know its stressful when you put yourself out there after so much work, but you have to keep it in perspective. what you made is crazy awesome and if you had fun doing it you should do it more
