Anyone here ever try screaming to help alleviate that anxious but helpless feeling life sometimes evokes, like primal top of your lungs everything you got chills down your spine screaming? It's nice, I jam some loud slow, sludgey guitar riffs and just fucking let loose.. You would be amazed at how good it feels..

I sing in the car.

I’ve been taking long drives. It’s the only time I have alone.

I get coffee a lot haha

Then drink it

I need to change my habits badly.

I’m on a total loop

I do the same route everyday.

It’s like brutal

I need to go to work

Turm, have you considered switching some herbal tea into your mix? Something hot that won't rustle your jimmies with too much caffeine.

Yes
It’s all a matter of taking the first step.
I have great ideas at night and amnesia in the morning.

I'm just suggesting switching out a few cups of it for a tea.

Hey Turm! Im so so sorry you're dealing with anxiety. I relate very much.

Some things known to help with anxiety as I'm learning via school:

- Exercise (gives endorphins, dopamine and other happy hormones)
- Community and social bonding (connectedness is a human need and produces oxytocin)
- Meditation (reduces racing thoughts)
- Journaling /challenging negative thoughts (gives negative thoughts less power)
- Therapy (finds root of problem and provides a place of safety / understanding) But it's best to find the right therapist for you. Not all therapists are equal, and there are so many different methods.
- Eating well and sleep (Super overlooked, but basically our brains need certain nutrients to work well. Adequate sleep is imperative as t helps consolidate info and help us to feel balanced)
- Spirituality /connectedness (Helps give meaning, and resilience)

Your thoughts about environment may be on to something. Ask yourself about that more. What is it that you think is bugging you out? They've done studies on rats and have found that the ones with stimulating and loving environment are EXPONENTIALLY healtheir than those without. They live longer.

I hope this passes in time. All the best.

Absolutely it is. It's a 'forced' series of exercises.... The way one is instructed to laugh is the 'asana' in this case.

Different body poses yield different benefits....

Similarly, the breathing patterns/oxygen enrichment that takes place during the laughter 'poses' affects the body. Of note, the facial muscles' changes, both which cause positive affect through hormone release.

On top of that there is the social factor of group silliness. But one can do these themselves, and still get the breath work and hormone release when done alone.

Good explanation:

Good to hear. I’m glad you have a support network.
I think that’s the most important part!
Hope you’re feeling better!
How’s the head?

head is great (even the depression part). infection is terrible.

the support network thing has always been there (and its absolutely the most important), but adding some new people into the mix has been very nice. it confirmed that i am right to totally disregard non-supportive people, since they don't even deserve my friendship. if someone i never met before is more helpful than someone i knew for years.. well.. then the problem isn't with me.

How about smoking cigarettes? Shit starts catching up, especially when you reach 40. Get that monkey off your back.

I still smoke.
Sometimes I don’t smoke at all.
I smoke about 8 a day and on weekends sometimes a lot, sometimes none.
I hear you though. I wish.
I’ve lost ten pounds though since I started eating better. Just have to eat right on the weekend.

Man after the winter I feel like I have a baby seal strapped to my waste.
Bad for the health too!
