Anxiety

Mines so bad lately I feel like Iím actually losing my mind.

Iím on meds for it but they donít work.

That part from ďthe DoorsĒ Riders on the storm..

ďHis BRAIN WAS SQUIRMING LIKE a toadĒ.

Thatís me!!

Iím calm on the outside but I feel like Iím burning alive!!!!

I think itís environmental.

Iím like that soldier in the Metallica video for ďOneĒ

Trapped inside! Nobody can hear me!!

I've known the feeling, it's a helpless one. Shit worked out for me and I was able to overcome, I shutter to think what my life would be like if things had not changed the way they have. Keep making positive moves your peace of mind will come.

Yes.
I’m drawing it out.
I hope it changes soon.
I know it will.

I hope you're ok but the fact that you seem to have started smoking weed again and now have anxiety could be related. I know for me weed has pretty significant short and midterm effects in that area.

Feeling ya. When I was sick, especially. Those thoughts just take over like shitty house guests that won’t leave.

I think it’s because I’ve been off work.
And I don’t smoke weed kitch.
I don’t do anything.
Just coffee and cigarettes.

Yeah, I’m better for the most part. My mind isn’t racing anymore. Hope your cerebellum is treating you better. Anxiety isn’t like physical pain where you can just decide to relax into it. There’s no higher level to go to to get perspective, because it’s already there, too

Glad to hear it.

Laying off smokes helped me a lot too even though it was a lot of work. Coffee is the one that I can't quite bring myself to let go. Hopefully some day. I do feel like my brain is a finely tuned machine now, school is a breeze. Hope things get better for you soon.

Glad to hear what? Must be the fact she isn't smoking weed since I can't imagine anyone being happy about someone who isn't back to work, doesn't do anything other than cigs and coffee and is on meds for anxiety. I know recovering alcoholics who smoke weed and are still able to maintain a normal alcohol free lifestyle and are actually healthy.

that's a pretty loose definition of fact right there. me, personally, get the impression Turm isn't terribly tempted by weed or even cares for it especially..now i could be wrong, but that is my impression based on what little i can deduce

i bring up therapy for two reasons....1 my baby brother is a therapist and 2 my daughter suffers from anxiety and i was curious the different coping mechanisms people deploy or are encouraged to deploy in dealing with

Why is it so hard for you to conceptualize a life without weed being more fulfilling and better for some people?

I didn't know exactly where I wanted to jump into this.
Definitely seek a therapist, there are even online/Skype options theses days, if available counselors in your area are slim.

Taking in a bunch of stimulants probably isn't helping, from a personal experience with them and anxiety. Trying to find a way into your body and out of your head would be advantageous as well. Check out some beginner yoga on YouTube. You'll loosen up and find of centered breathing techniques as well.

I can't recall Turn, and if it's personal that's ok, but you are taking medication for this currently, yes?

I can. But for you misery is better than smoking weed whether smoking weed causes misery or not. My point has always been that people CAN live a normal life AND smoke weed on a daily basis. Including alcoholics.

I decided one day I was going to not be a slave to anxiety anymore. My friend wanted me to go rent a uhaul and I had never done it before so of course I was nervous. But I read a Bible verse that day on twitter about anxiety and decided to just give it to God. Something came to me that was like "do you think random people are going to be mean to you, you're a nice polite person" and suddenly everything was fine. I still deal with anxiety from time to time physically, but I just pray and push through.

Something else that helped was "im not weird, you're weird", im super awkward but I just own it and use it. I got a new job and I was super awkward at first but because I owned it nobody cared and in fact reached out. Like saying hi to people, if they dont say hi back aren't they the odd or rude one, if so who even cares they're dealing with their own stuff and probably aren't thinking you're weird or odd for saying hi. peopel thought it was odd i didnt say hi to everyone at work when i got there so i started doing it. glad I did.

There was something on a show called breakout kings in which a doctor told a girl, "therapists and doctors have an interest in keeping you coming back, go a few feet outside of your comfort zone and ask someone the time. the next day do it twice a little further. stop looking to blow up the levy when a simple crack will do." It really rang true to me and im glad ive over come a lot of the shy anxiety I used to have just doing little things. Now I talk to strangers all the time.

Still that physical feeling of anxiety is tough to deal with, it sucks being tense all the time. I found some massage chairs at the mall that help.

As far as weed, its to enhance life not sustain it. I stopped smoking before I got this job to get off it as a crutch but because im so sore and wound up from work i kinda fell back into it. but im not as dependent on it.

I know everyone is different, but years ago, when I was going to practice my guitar, in the mornings, I would drink a cup of black coffee and smoke a filterless Camel or two...that mess had me wired, so shaky, nervous, but it helped me with my speed of playing... I don't smoke Camels any more, and I just had to quit coffee. I would of never believed it, but it messes with my stomach too bad now, so I switched to herbal tea. I'm actually enjoying it, with all the flavors to try...
