Shit! Please remove my thanks since that's the case. I must have still been half asleep and overlooked such a glaring error.

Scientific American is one of the best American publications there is despite it's name sake. There is alot of progressive science reported and it's one of very few I actually hear people talking about frequently.

But I get your joking

Now remove your thanks myxie

That's great, and I'm glad your kid arrived healthfully.
However if it's your first child/first set of twins, you never know how securely your body is going to handle a pregnancy with or without commonly-used additional substances like caffeine, nicotine and pot. It is not uncommon for pregnancies to go wrong without the additional factor of using marijuana, so one never knows until it is too late and damage is done. Luckily, your baby is doing well and I can believe pot has minimal consequences on a fetus if any at all.
I only tend to be paranoid and concerned due to having known otherwise healthy young people who have suffered miscarriages and harmful pregnancies, resulting in mandatory abortion. This was devastating to them, and something I never wish to see hopeful parents-to-be go through.

I think all of the advise is great so far. My baby turned out beautiful and smart and I abstained during the first trimester and first half of the second. The only reason i started again was due to a stressful living situation and having a bf who smoked it all the time in front of me, it was hard to say no and was a good way to stay relaxed and send positive vibes to me baby rather than just stress. I think the person who said that you need to be supported in cutting back and/or abstaining and being stress-free is very wise. It would have been easier to abstain if it wasn't offered to me all the time. However my baby is very smart and healthy and I had a low-risk pregnancy so I felt that it was not the wrong choice to make for me.

Ok. I smoked through both of my pregnancies. Both of my boys were full term and very healthy. My mom smoked with all her kids and I know many other ladies who have smoked and had healthy and happy babies.

That being said I have to say I know a girl who just had her precious baby taken from her. Not even 24 hours after she had her beautiful baby girl the doctors drug tested her baby. The baby tested positive for marijuana and Child Protective Services took the little girl.

In short smoking marijuana while pregnant won't harm the baby, but are you prepared to have your children taken from you because of marijuana?

Yeah after my sons dad beat the shit outta me and I called the cops they notified Child Protective Services (because it was a domestic violence situation) and they drug tested me and took my kid over a positive marijuana test. I've had to take parenting classes, protective parenting classes, a psych evaluation and a drug and alcohol evaluation to get him back. This was in Feb. that all this happened and I'm finally going to court on Wends. to see if I can get him back. Kids and drugs don't mix in the eyes of CPS even if its something as harmless as weed.

I'd say its ok but its not I just hope that anyone who hears my story will learn from my mistake. Please don't smoke pot while you're pregnant. My friend who had her baby taken in the hospital even knew what I was going through and ignored my pleading for her to stop smoking. When your kids are older its not such a big deal in the eyes of CPS but when they are young they will snatch your kids in the blink of an eye. I would even say that a bowl or two here and there won't hurt while you are pregnant but please stop ANY marijuana use at least 3 months before your due date.

Having your kid taken from you shouldn't be your primary nor sole motivation for not smoking pot while pregnant.

I'd think concern over the welfare of your child would be better motivation then having them taken from you. Especially since they theoretically should likely coincide with each other. No I do not have kids.
