CA Medipot Question
Does a prior citation for mj possession automatically disqualify you from obtaining a medical marijuana card?
I ask because I was busted about 9 years ago and givens ticket for possession of less than one oz. Since then I have a clean record and have become a business professional who no longer smokes marijuana. I have an extremely high anxiety level however, so much so the dr. Perscribed zoloft and Xanax. I've been on it for only one month but hve asked my dr. to taper me off of it due to it's addicive qualities (stops working as effectively over time). I am currently at the beginning of the taper down and seeking something that will work with me. Back to my original question, would I automatically be exempt?

Show your 'scripts to a MMJ Dr. and you will get your card forthwith.
You have already been prescribed meds for the anxiety, this is just a different med.

Thanks. It's just that I was checking out a website for one ofthe doctors and it had a questionnaire that asked if I have ever been "arrested" for possession of a controlled substance. So I wanted to make sure that didn't disqualify me.
It's been a pretty f•'d up experience trying to get off the Xanax, mainly because I threw away the pills then subsequently went into severe withdrawal symptoms, was perscribed a new set to taper down with and had two pharmacies turn me away because it was "too soon" despite calling and speaking with my doctor telling them I could have a seizure. The experience was pure hell, being treated like an addict and a common criminal. The funny thinG is if I had gone back and told my dr. to perscribe me a higher dosage they would have given it to me no problem. American healthcare for you.

I've got alot of issues with anxiety too.
And I want to get in on the MMJ train just like everybody else, but a few doctors have actually told me that over a longer period of time pot actually worsens the anxiety and most MMJ cards are given out for chronic pain.

Wow I just saw your sig. Can't believe The Gov died. When I got that ticket for possession he actually gave me advice (which I didn't follow). I looked up to him though as a key reformer in america. RIP

Yeah, it's pretty harsh the way the whole thing went down too.
And Ken helped alot of people in time of their need, in his real life and on Yahooka, he's truly missed.

Btw, was that in California? And did they deny your card or just warn you? I noticed Washington does not list anxiety as a medical problem where mj can be perscribed.

I was on Ativan before they put me on Xanax but found that they didn't last long enough and they made me very sleepy (almost fell asleep at the wheel in rush hour traffic).
I think mj would definitely help me. Especially with some of the symptoms that go along with anxiety like muscle pain and tightness, and not beig able to relax even when you're home and trying to (and making the Tim and Eric show funny ). Anyway, thanks for the advice.

So play the game...
"What do you need the 'script for son?" "Chronic lower back pain, sir."
