Just picked up an oz. chunk of bud, its rather fresh sticky stuff it was basically a sandwich of smaller dense buds. When I pulled them all apart from each other I noticed a few in the middle had strange black spots, they all look about the size and shape of seeds but feel like rotten bits of bud.

I'm pretty sure its bud rot or mold of some sort but I would like to be sure before I start tossing. If anyone has pictures of mold or rot to share I would appreciate it, I’ve never seen mold but I know it can cause damage to the lungs when smoked, therefore I would like to study my enemy.

if it looks bad and feels bad and looks out of place then yeah toss it

if its a completely different color then the rest of the bag then yeah toss it

or do what i do, grind it all up and mix it together and smoke it anyways

I'm just curious but why did you come to Yahooka for this? I'm not trying to deter you, I'm genuinely curious.

why I ask is because this is something serious. without good pictures no one here can give accurate advice. mold CAN be very harmful for the body. if you really do have any mold on your plants, absolutely do not smoke it. better to be safe than sorry...

oh and I wouldn't ever use that same dealer again because chances are they know about it!

thing is sometimes it's not even mold alot of people mistake mold for burnt buds that were too close for too long to the light


but i guess spanky's right, don't smoke mold

Well I mainly came here to see if anyone had photos of mold (sounds dumb but i really don't know what mold looks like on a dried bud) and I thought other people might not know ether so if we had some pictures posted of good examples, everyone would know what to look for and be able to avoid smoking it.

I ended up taking a pair of fore-snips and picking off all the blackened bits, I don't have access to a camera otherwise i would post pics
