The mary Jane Rage
So I find this a bit odd about myself. I actually lose my patience much more often when I habitually smoke MJ. I have sort of noticed this for years. Within the last few I have had some extensive periods of sobriety up to two years at most so I know this must be from smoking.
I just can't handle like what I perceive as stupidity of others when I have recently smoked weed usually the day before. I.E smoke weed friday night next day meet up with my father to do some work and my temper is much quicker. There is usually a reason for me to become upset but my fuse becomes much shorter. The problem is well I can recognize when this is going on with myself. Yet even when I know I'm getting mad for some really stupid reason I can't seem to calm myself down. Any one else have any odd reactions to smoking?

you say this usually happens the day AFTER smoking...
what happens when you smoke after you notice you are angry? does the anger dissipate or intensify? i might say it might have something to do with the herb if it actually made you angrier. but it seems you get angry when you DONT have herb in you. which is something i notice myself too, when i smoke alot and im not high i tend to get caught in the "anger loop" alot easier where you notice you are angry but that just makes you angrier. it doesnt sound like the herb has much to do with it is all im pointing out.

i hear you. the only way to avoid it is to be stoned most of the time. however, beware of the mornings. I know this from myself. I don't smoke in the mornings an I tend to fight most with people in the mornings.
Waves, It is now 8:30 am here and I smoked last around 11:30pm last night and believe me the 'weed is still in me'. I will remain stoned easily for another 4 hours without smoking. It is this coming down period that is most dangerous. |

for me cannabis supresses the rage, even for maybe a week after smoking. But then again, I am normally an easilly outraged person. Always in fight or flight mode.

What I've noticed is if I have a session early on, then don't smoke for the middle of the day I definitely get irritable as they day goes by and my high dissipates. Next day I'm fine regardless of whether I was smoking the day prior.

i have been smoking and eating copious amounts of pot in the last 6-8 months and i notice if i take too much butter i get a prolific stone which occasionally makes me irratable but i think it was because there was a bit of mould on a few of the butter making buds last round. that really sucked, jared em too early :/ "doh"

Waves- I usually don't smoke when I feel angry because of this. If I do then my anger does away. Its the lack of weed that makes me more prone to anger for about a day after smoking weed.
For example during my last few month stretch of not smoking I didn't get pissed off quite as easy. I still smoke this is a small downside vs the positive. I don't get angry to the point where it shows much. Not the smash the window type..

Or quit completely. This irritability is common among most stoners and few will admit it. Some worse than others. Many don't (including myself until I quit) even connect the dots. I'm happier, calmer, less paranoid, more optimistic, more empathetic towards other people...since I quit. |

All that happens is you are slightly more on edge for awhile cuz you arent used to not being high. You make it sound like quitting pot magically enhances ones life. Maybe it did for you because thats what you needed to do for yourself but dont go making these generalizations and blanket statements that may not apply to all. Some people are quite able to use mj without abusing it. I smoke once a day on weekdays and i dont run into any of this stuff. You have to find what works best for you individually. Thats what its all about.

I can get grumpy if I smoke early in the morning and don't smoke the rest of the day. I get all burnt out and lazy, so when I have to do anything I get pissed off.
solution: I do not smoke in the AM

chill the fuck out wavesy. I thought you stopped smoking ages ago already?
I agree a little with dhomnley, smoking can help you to be irratable. I think that we should take the weed more seriously and use it as a medicine. When I am too stoned, the weed is disturbing me more than it is helping me. The trick is balancing it and being disciplined enough not to be 'piggy'. I am still working on this. Waves, old boy, I'm sorry to say this but you are the one being a douche here. |
