Here is my letter supporting Marc Emery
US WA: PUB LTE: U.S. Should Leave Canadian Alone and a recent letter published in Canada about how the United States media is ignoring all the good things about cannabis CN AB: PUB LTE: Way To Go Canada For some reason, U.S. newspapers and other media will not report good news like this. MARC EMERY DESERVES FREEDOM please write a letter to the PI and post it here so we can see just how clear the support is for Marc Emery! SENT: Dear Seattle PI editor, The United States is wrongly trying to extradite a Good Canadian Citizen Marc Emery on drug charges when all he every did was tell the truth about cannabis! Marc Emery didn't manufacture any seeds. GOD Made the seeds and he said they were good at least according to Gen. 1:29 and Marc Emery paid canadian taxes on every sale! Darral Good I POST THIS FOR MY OWN INDIVIDUAL REASON, not to brag about getting published

weird how you call a paragraph a letter
perhaps you could fill those letters out with some interesting perspectives, or amusing anecdotes. |

And using a religious argument to get something in the government done is a little bit futile.

I don't have any trouble thinking of people who have done a lot more for "the movement" than Emery. Charles Lynch comes to mind.
When did the Vancouver city council pose for a photo opp with Emery? And when has Emery ever not copped a plea? And as for those Tommy Morgan videos on POT-TV....don't get me started. Why is it more important for Emery to sell seeds (at $50 a pop) than it is for a medical marijuana patient to be able to grow their own? And then there's Grant Kreiger: http://www.palmspringsbum.org/bbs/vi...hp?p=5613#5613 Last edited by Guest; 06-02-2009 at 10:26 AM. |

Marc is a good friend, and has been a tenacious activist since long before roach or palmspringsbum or many others were ever heard of.
Hope some will continue to support him in whatever way possible.

He tried to use me, but support? No, never. And, quite frankly, after the crap he pulled with my cousin Loretta several years ago, any friend of his is an enemy of mine. A few minutes later... What I find so unforgiveable about Emery & Co. is that they do things and then expect you not to mention them "for the good of the movement". The nicest face I could put on that is co-dependent entanglement. And that is far too charitable a concept to describe what they do. Blackmail and/or blackball is closer to the mark. Now, I'm talking about things they said and did in public; on the internet, in their forum and related websites. Someone mentioned Emery's advocacy of free speech? They obviously never participated, or tried to participate, in his forum. I left when he began editing MY posts. He edited other people's posts as well. A few minutes after that... And then there's Imler. When Imler was going to trial Emery & Co. were screaming he was a narc and urging people not to support him. Imler, who got the backing of the city of West Hollywood...and was recently quoted in the L.A. Times as saying that thanks to the federal raids of anyone who actually gave a crap about patients organized crime was now firmly entrenched in the movement. Now, I'm talking about -public- statements and actions made on the internet; their forum and related sites. I made copies of that, as did a lot of other people. And I have suffered many years in large part because I refused to 'sit down and shut up for the good of the movement' over that. Emery & Co. first tried to hide under Imler's skirts - use him as a front - and then when they (McWilliams and McCormick) got raided, blamed him. They set back activism in Los Angeles (where it matters) ten years. A few minutes after that... And then there was the time Dennis Peron and John Entwistle got busted in Utah. For those of you that don't know, Dennis Peron and his San Francisco Cannabis Buyers Club (name change to 'Cultivators Club' upon the passage of 215) are the reason California passed The Compassionate Use Act of 1996. Anyway, when Dennis and John were busted in Utah and I was keen for any news, any detail, I see Steve Kubby on Pot-TV say something like, 'oh, and Dennis and John got busted in Utah but don't worry about them, they're pros, they'll be fine...' I could go on and on and on and on with similar anecdotes, and have been banned from pretty much all the major cannabis internet sites for doing so, which says more about the movement than it does about me, if you ask me. Now that I think about it, they had some communication over it that I did not see. Uncle Pat is also a Southern Baptist Fundamentalist, and I think he tried to 'save' Loretta...and one of his sons is a Southern Baptist minister in Alabama. As a matter of fact, my grand-father started a church after the revenuers raided his still. It was across the road from his daughter and her husband and family's house, where the other still was in the back yard. So they elected my grand-father constable...but I digress. My grandmother's log cabin (registered now I think as historic) and my father's family's land is a few miles from where Loretta lives. And my family goes back there many generations, they are one of "the old families". Last edited by Guest; 06-03-2009 at 04:23 PM. |

I think it says alot about you. You seem to get alot wrong, but hey now, you are 'relatively' new to all this. Perhaps if you went more with mainstream concepts/understanding of how cannabis and hemp legalization actually comes/came about, and less with the nitpicking of those you try so hard to emulate. Maybe pick a new path. The "trampling others in you way" path is getting worn out. ![]() r |

So, when you can't win on the merits of your arguments, you resort to personal attacks? I don't want to be involved with people that do that. And I don't want to be involved with people who slander and divide the movement, and then try to smear anyone who calls them on it with "dividing" the movement. Are you going to try to claim Emery & Co. didn't sit in Vancouver and scream "Imler's a Narc" when he was going to trial? Or are you going to try to claim that isn't divisive? As far as I'm concerned, getting away from that drug-dealer paradigm is what this movement is all about. So, rather than resorting to personal attacks and nebulous accusations, why don't you tell me what I got wrong. Be specific. Let's talk about issues, and debate issues. By the way, Charles Lynch is scheduled to be sentenced tomorrow.

I can't get excited over your sour grapes.
You have very litle knowledge of that which you speak, and come here advertising your personal agenda(s) ...not "the movement's" whatever the fuck you think that is. Has piss all to do with cannabis activism. You're like some sort of NORML twelvestep program/cel... gone terribly wrong. You may think you speak for stoners, but rest assured it is an illusion not shared by many. particularly by me. |
