We're just going to keep on pinging on the Establishment until they give in, and they will.

i feel like it took a lot of money and push to get it to fail the first time. if we can keep bringing it up they wont be able to keep fighting it

where was the opposition coming from in the first place? I heard in mendocino a lot of people voted against it because it would hurt the local economy, but i dunno

thanks for the good (concise) news, also for the opportunity to use this

reading the comments in the article ddc posted a lot of people seem to think the funders of this are of the same mold. to an extent i see their point, but i guess you gotta crawl before you can walk.

5x5 area to grow pot? 1oz? If pots legal i'm soaking up the free light, and i dont see >1oz from even a small outdoor pot garden.

For sure a lot of people have a vested interest in the status quo. Profits for commercial growers per oz will fall through the floor in the event of legalisation.

But a lot of corporate parties are investing in intellectual property relevant to commercialising mj in the event of legalisation too.

We haven't seen half of it yet, the fight to free the weed will only just begin when it is legalised.

Look up sativex for example.

Strong Support for prop 19? Like the very people who were pro-cannabis and hated prop 19 don't matter once again.

Here we go with the Gold rush and damn the Indians again.

I just did my own poll and 90% of those who answered favor a Just for the People legalization Initiative in 2012.

We see a "All in One" Initiative as a waste of another voting cycle.

This is the way people see the Prop-19 type of effort.

It will be a Sweetheart deal for Canna-business that the people are supposed to vote for because it throws a small canna-bone to the people while Canna-millionaires get the majority of benefit.
The big question is why vote for some to be rich when we as people cannot practice full horticulture rights with the cannabis plant

Oh we are going to be fed Business-Fertilizer of how a 5x5 mindset is the right one. Where buying our cannabis is better than seeds saving, heirloom variety growing and growing all we want for our selves and our friends and family, is wrong.

Prop 19 depended on Law Enforcement to once again spend multi-millions of dollars to enforce prohibition on the people so business could profit at prohibition prices.

Prop 19 was aimed as selling you the idea of Legalization not Legalization itself.

So I ask you. If we cannot legalize just for the people in 2012 as a safe first step we can all agree on how in the hell are we to pass an all in one initiative that favours Millionaires and still sends people to prison?

It's time for industry to step back and support a solid effort to clearly grant rights to the people.. Not some half assed decriminalization that millionaires want.
To those who are resurrecting the prop 19 party ; you got your hat handed to you in 2010 you will get it handed to you again in 2012.. But then again that is just fine with them because they are still in business and we still go to jail.
emphasis mine. im in agreement with this pretty much.
i dont think it would be progress or beneficial if legal medical marijuana means the market will get flooded with monsanto seeds

This is going to happen- we have to hang on to our seeds in the event of legalisation.

i'm in agreeance that weed needs to be completely free (or at least as free as tomatos)

i get kind of lost when people would vote against legalization because of this though. rome wasn't built in a day (to sound really cliche)

It's going to be lulz when pot becomes legal, and the local garden clubs become inundated with people who turn out to be some of the most sophisticated hands-on botanists in the world. I think there is an agricultural brain trust within the ranks of pot growers, and it's going to shock the world how much these people actually know about plants and plant genetics.

Imagine if these people could put their minds to work in the food industry?

like pro-life or pro-choice...right ? I understand some politicians still want rowe vs wade overturned.

consider also the dispenseries are already getting flack for their sheer numbers in Cali.

Until cannabis is reclassified, I really don't see any future in legalization, because prohibition is way too profitable.

Same goes as before, state legalizes cannabis...feds don't. So arrests under federal statues will continue, Even if states legalize.

how many dispensaries have been raided since medical marijuana legalization ?

yea but at least less people are gunning for ya

and the states can pressure hte fed hopefully. everyone bitches about the lack of state rights but truth is the states have to actually stand up for themselves and TAKE the power, just like when the feds shat on our constitution in the first place.
once enough states legalize the feds wont be able to keep up. that state doesnt even have to 'war' with the feds, just refuse to lend any resources or cooperation.

@SaJ: unfortunately true story. i realized i was being an idiot pretty quickly.
