FDA Raw Milk Busts
Quote:
FDA busts Pennsylvania gang selling dangerous, illegal white liquid to children A yearlong sting operation, including aliases, a 5 a.m. surprise inspection and surreptitious purchases from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, culminated in the federal government announcing this week that it has gone to court to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling its contraband to willing customers in the Washington area. amish-dairy-cow The product in question: unpasteurized milk. ![]() Unindicted co-conspirator in the FDA's Pennsylvania drug bust Who cut the cheese? Police raid raw dairy producers in L.A., destroy inventory A yearlong sting operation involving a multitude of state and federal agencies brought to justice Wednesday a dangerous ring of raw dairy enthusiasts in California. Los Angeles police yesterday arrested a farmer, one of her employers and the owner of a raw foods store on criminal conspiracy charges stemming from their allegedly illegal production and sale of unpasteurized milk, cheese and other nefarious dairy products. 3 Wheeled Cheese All about Raw Milk, Raw Milk Cheese, Alternative sources of Energy & Tuk Tuk (Mototaxi, Samlor, Auto Rickshaw) Twenty-eight states, including dairy-rich Pennsylvania, allow sales of raw milk within state borders. Farms in the Keystone State that sell this kind of milk are checked at least once a year. If bacteria is found, they are shut down until clean tests come back. This is not some contraband substance. The FDA tried to make an example with the Amish farm. Instead, it just looks like an example of government overreach. Feds sting Amish farmer selling raw milk locally The FDA’s actions stand in contrast to other areas where the Obama administration has said it will take a hands-off approach to violations of the law, including the use of medical marijuana in states that have approved it, and illegal-immigrant students and youths, whom the administration said recently will not be targets of their enforcement efforts. ![]() Milk Sucks, or Bossie's Revenge Quote:
MILK is Bad For You | MILK sucks! Posted by Viola Woolcott Quote:
The Dairy Industry Cows produce milk for the same reason that humans do: to nourish their young. In order to force the animals to continue giving milk, factory farm operators typically impregnate them using artificial insemination every year... After their calves are taken from them, mother cows are hooked up, several times a day, to milking machines. Using genetic manipulation, powerful hormones, and intensive milking, factory farmers force cows to produce about 10 times as much milk as they would naturally. The good news is that removing dairy products from your diet is easier than ever. Today there is a multitude of nondairy "dairy" products on the market, such as Soy, rice, and almond milk and soy ice cream. Check out a list of our favorite dairy and meat alternatives. New Dairy-Free Milks Are Made From Hemp, Flax and Oats By Ellen Kanner, McClatchy Newspapers - Wednesday, August 3 2011 You can't get blood from a turnip, but these days you can get milk from all manner of plants. Soy, rice, nut and coconut milks are on store shelves, of course, plus a new wave made from flax, hemp and oats. Hemp seeds also boast Omega-3s. Check the nutrition label when sourcing hemp milk because calories and sugar content vary wildly. Living Harvest Tempt vanilla hemp milk (32 ounces, about $4) offers the best nutritional profile and tastes best, too, though with definite nutty undertones. It has 120 calories per 8-ounce serving, 6 fat grams, 135 milligrams sodium and 2 protein grams. It has more sugar and calories than thin, flat-tasting, pricier Hemp Dream (about $4.50, 32 ounces), and a third fewer calories and sugar than Pacific's cloying vanilla hemp milk (about $4, 32 ounces). High on Hemp

because of all of the other hormones and nastiness that's found in pasteurized, processed milk. also, raw milk typically comes from non-factory farms. some say raw milk is better for you. i know people who were raised off raw milk and they're totally fine and healthy.
better question yet...why would anyone go to such lengths to prevent people from drinking raw milk?? i've been following this pretty closely...it is SUCH bullshit. (the fda raids). they're (fda) going to waste food and insist we don't eat/drink it...but yet, they continue to approve "food" that is loaded with poisons and chemicals and "non food". bullshit. fuck them. let me eat and drink what i want. assholes. don't even get me started on monsanto and their genetically modified seeds...enter soy, & rice...etc into the mix, it's just more control and bs. also, although i can't find it right off hand and i apologize if i missed it somewhere in dcd's post, the fucking dept of homeland security is involved in all of this as well.

yeah, it does sound gross. i don't drink regular milk either. it's just the fact they're raiding these places, wasting the food and then jailing and vilifying the proprietors. along with forcing people to eat and drink what they say is "ok".

Some people like raw milk because they were raised on a farm. If you were, chances are pasteurized milk tastes like a watered-down version of the real stuff. Conversely, if you were brought up on pasteurized, chances are raw milk will taste funky. Raw isn't from a mix of 100s of cows, so you can really taste what that particular cow was eating, etc. The whole American Dairy market is a disgusting display of what we do "behind the scenes". It's like a weird little mafia that actually has been successful (and still is) on maintaining their empire with lies.
There's so much to be said about the industry, as far as practices, their deceitful marketing, and so forth that I couldn't even really begin. Not to mention I'm only half-informed. Mass production of anything, imo, leads to some pretty shit output/situations. Mistreatment of the cows, lies, and sheisty processes have left me hardly ever drinking milk anymore. (Except when I got a cheerios hankerin)

![]() When I was young...till about age nine, home delivery of whole fresh milk was a daily event. Nobody got sick, and nobody died from it. Pasteurized milk has a slightly longer shelf life .

Raw milk tastes better than store bought milk. But that said, milk is still gross.
I'll eat cheese and ice cream or the occasional chocolate milk, but that's it. |

I really only cook with milk, I had a good supplier of raw milk for a while, I tried to drink between 4-8 ounces a day. I am a firm believer that there are vitamins and minerals in raw milk that you can not get anywhere else. Its not really the vitamins and minerals by themselves its the V&M with the naturally occurring enzymes that allow your body to absorb them.
"Moo cow fuck milk" is one of my favorite saying btw

I was raised on raw milk. Both bovine and goat.
I guess I've been an outlaw since my infancy.

Why the fuck is dairy a food group?
I think I'm going to cut way back on dairy consumption after reading this thread. Alot of that shit made quite a bit of sense to me.

Used to be the only real good source of calcium, still kind of is but it's much easier to supplement now with fortified plant milk or pills.
