LIKE OZ, IT'S AT THE END of a winding road. And like the Emerald City itself, the color green radiates in a shimmering glow. But Dorothy never got a whiff of anything like this. Long before that radiant green comes into view, the pungent odor of marijuana plants telegraphs their presence around the final bend.

This garden of Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica and Cannabis hybrids hidden in the Santa Cruz Mountains has spared many hours of suffering for patients struggling with cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma and a host of other painful--sometimes terminal--diseases. It is the wellspring for Wo/Men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana, one of the most successful medical marijuana programs in the country.

Good article. What most people don't realize is that ALL cannabis usage is medical. Reason being that I use it for times when anxiety meets depression. This is what is considered to be "recreational" usage. Some people go fishing or boating, some people exercise or jog, some people read, etc. for this same condition which occurs in all of us. I "inhale" some cannabis smoke and crank up a DVD concert. There is nothing wrong with this.

Cannabis prohibition is the only racist fascism that tends to grow harmful symptoms as time passes...Harmful Political not Medical symptoms. They have to steal piss to find if users are using while anyone can see the drunk stagger and fall and hear their moans and slurred words as they bow and puke to the porclean god!
