Great post as always DdC.
I always thought the term "marijuana" was a Spanish term for intoxicant. I do believe this is the case of where the term came from. Might want to do some further research on this. Isn't it amazing how the positive aspects of the plant are left out of the history books? My nephew was just here and he had no idea about all the other uses of the plant. He only knows one. I was only taught about one also in the Amerikkan schools. Need to get the government out of the schools also.

Yes, the term 'marijuana' is a Mexican-Spanish term.(as opposed to Costillian-Spanish) I believe it's original translation was 'evil weed' or something to that extent, but it's been lost over the past 110 years.

Hey All,
My understanding of it is "Marihuana or Marijuana" is Spanish for "Mary Jane" Hearst ran stories of Poncho Villa during the Fascist War or Mexican War I think it was. Villa was anti fascist and Hearst backed Mussolini. Hearst Publications also had connections with Mellon and DuPont and their poly fiber from crude oil (Rockefeller), with backing from the newly legitimized Booze Industry. "Mary Jane" was a woman who "serviced" Poncho Villa's men with stories one might here about Tiajuana and the Donkey's. This woman supposedly drank a lot of tequila and smoked reefer and went wild and crazy. Making it a point to the white parents of the day, not much different than the Waldo madness. The point being that any white girl using "Marijuana" would turn into a Mary Jane drunken slut. Racism also added fuel to the fire in that these parents kids would not only be turning into drunken sluts but doing it with "the degenerate races". I can imagine everyday stories of this kind with large print headlines would tend to sway opinion, especially when this was the only news they got. Today we see how brainwarped society is even with the info sheople like to bury their heads rather than speak out and possibly get it chopped off. But I figure those who bury their heads just make it easier with a stationary target. Cannabis sativa is the Latin term translated as "Helpful Hemp" Ganja is the preferred terminology for buds and Hemp forr food, fuel and fiber. Even though many stay with the buzzword (The "M" Word) and all its baggage. Peace, Love and Liberty or the Racist DEAth DdC ![]() A Few Buzzwords The Buzz on M-A-R-I-J-U-A-N-A...(vulgarity) Citi zen Kane (Old Link) In the 1920's and 1930's Cannabis hemp was transformed into Marijuana like Jekyll into Hyde. Newspaper owner/publisher Willian Randolph Hearst was one of the leaders in the drive to make cannibis illegal. Hearst, through his newspaper's articles, brought the word 'Marijuana' into the English language, associating it sensationally with crime and violence. Coincidentally, Hearst owned the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division and millions of acres of prime timber land that would have lost their value had the 'hemp decorticating machine' that had just been invented been allowed to be widely distributed. This new invention greatly simplified the hemp-to-paper process. Another player in this bit of history is Pierre DuPont, the paint maker. DuPont held patent rights to the sulphuric- acid wood-pulp paper process. And DuPont's synthetic petrochemicals had replaced hemp seed oil and hemp cordage. Articles with headlines such as "Marihuana Makes Fiends of Boys in 30 Days; Hasheesh Goads Users to Blood-Lust" create terror of the "killer weed from Mexico." Through his relentless disinformation campaign, Hearst is credited with bringing the word "marijuana" into the English language. In addition to fueling racist attitudes toward Hispanics, Hearst papers run articles about "marijuana-crazed negroes" raping white women and playing "voodoo-satanic" jazz music. Driven insane by marijuana, these blacks -- according to accounts in Hearst-owned newspapers -- dared to step on white men's shadows, look white people directly in the eye for more than three seconds, and even laugh out loud at white people. The Ultimate Hypocrasy The Forbidden Fruit and the Tree of Knowledge, by Professors Richard Bonnie and Charles Whitebread - This is a more extended history of the origins of the marijuana laws. Unra veling an American Dilemma: The Demonization of Marihuana - by John C.
