Graduating in 1974, Thomas joined the staff of the attorney general of Missouri, John Danforth, a young Republican who would become his political mentor. The only African-American in the office, Thomas requested to work in tax law, not civil rights. When Danforth was elected to the Senate in 1977, Thomas took a job in the private sector, at Monsanto, a St. Louis chemical company. His work there primarily consisted of shepherding pesticides through government registration.

This problem is much larger than just Monsanto against the concerns of the general population. Certain members of Congress (who are also members of the Dairy Livestock & Poultry Committee) accept PAC money from companies with dairy interests & also directly from Monsanto. The Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was groomed during his employment as an attorney for King & Spalding who also happen to represent Monsanto. Michael Taylor, Monsanto’s attorney, was hired by the Food & Drug Administration in an executive position of high authority. Margaret Miller and Suzanne Sechen, Monsanto's scientists, were hired by the FDA to review Monsanto's own research. I have trouble believing that there is not a conflict of interests in these examples.

Had the US Supreme Court ruled against seed patents a few weeks ago, Proctor's lawsuit would have little ground to stand on. Unfortunately, it ruled in favor of patents, with Monsanto's ex-employee, Clarence Thomas, writing the majority opinion. This ruling has enormous implications that farmers and consumers might not be aware of until it's too late. Seed companies from the big multinationals like DuPont/Pioneer and Monsanto/DeKalb/Asgrow down to small ones like Podners LLC are patenting numerous indigenous plant varieties, as well as individual genes or traits, trying to monopolize anything that consumers or farmers might find essential or desirable.

If the governments of the world would fund studies looking for positive results of cannabis/hemp, there would probably be a sweetner made from hemp on the market that would be far safer than any other out there now.

My wife lost half the site in her eye due to aspartame. Doctor asked her if she had been drinking moonshine. The medical practice could not figure out where the problem came from. She almost died from drinking too many sodas laced with aspartame.

This is legal though, as is a lot of other poisons out there. Better keep the non-toxic stuff illegal.

I'm afraid Illness and Disease are in the same fascist catagory as the Ganjawar. Preventing or Curing them doesn't pay like "treating" them.
