These figures are repulsive.
80 billion tax dollars to clean up the mess inherent with every crude oil wells production. From leaks to the roads built. The thousands of people forced out of their homes to please these sleezeballs. Still not much said about hemp. But there is definately a problem with fossil fuels. The tax paid protection money in the billions for security gaurds, armies and police, FARC paramilitary or straight up assinassinations. To get the oil at all cost. The oil based pesticides and herbicides hemp could also replace. The barrels of oil for the grain the cows eat while hempseed protein is a target of the narkoczar. If mentioned, but usually not pc enough for mainstream ecoexperts. And if it wasn't so valuable as a statistic in the "marijuana" eradications. This is not including the cost of sick kids playing in the chemical dirt. Or in combat. Billions and billions of taxes spent on these corporations to keep cost down while safetynet programs are cut for lack of funds. Alternatives to the mindset of glutanny, distance traveled, wind, wave, biomass and solar, local power generation. How obvious does it have to get? Then you have the media totally on the sidelines bashing red herrings against each other. The politicops taking kickback and the citizens relying on the TV, radio and deadtree media and these policeticians to fix it. Fat fascist chance.
