Calif. Assembly Passes Hemp-Farming Bill

Local Ag Leader Sees Benefits in Growing Hemp By Larry Mitchell *
Source: Chico Enterprise-Record January 28, 2006 Calif.*
A local Farm Bureau leader sees potential benefits for farmers in a bill that would legalize growing "industrial hemp," a plant related to marijuana. "If it's something farmers in the area can grow and make money, and it's legal, I don't see any problem with it," said Tod Kimmelshue, a member of the boards of directors of both the state and Butte County Farm Bureau organizations.

Calif. Assembly Passes Hemp-Farming Bill By Tom Chorneau
Source: Associated Press January 26, 2006 Sacramento, CA *
A bill approved by the state Assembly Thursday would add California to the growing number of states seeking to legalize the cultivation of industrial hemp — a biological relative of marijuana. Supporters claim that despite its family links, hemp is a completely safe product that could become a cash crop for California farmers because of its use in a long list of products from soap and cosmetics to rope, jewelry and even luggage.

Mechanical Engineering February 26, 1937
The Most Profitable and Desirable Crop Than Can be Grown

"Flax and Hemp: From the Seed to the Loom" was published in the February 1938 issue of Mechanical Engineering magazine. It was originally presented at the Agricultural Processing Meeting of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in New Brunswick, NY of February 26, 1937 by the Process Industries Division.

Flax and Hemp: From the Seed to the Loom By George A. Lower
Paint and lacquer manufacturers are interested in hempseed oil which is a good drying agent. When markets have been developed for the products now being wasted, seed and hurds, hemp will prove, both for the farmer and the public, the most profitable and desirable crop that can be grown, and one that can make American mills independent of importations.

Recent floods and dust storms have given warnings against the destruction of timber. Possibly, the hitherto waste products of flax and hemp may yet meet a good part of that need, especially in the plastic field which is growing by leaps and bounds.

Thumbs down Your tax dollars at work....

against all of us........

Assemblyman Rick Keene, R-Chico, doesn't share Kimmelshue's enthusiasm for Assembly Bill 1147, which passed the Assembly Thursday.

Keene said he and most other Republican Assembly members fear that making it legal to grow industrial hemp would create problems for law enforcement and perhaps encourage drug use.

Keene said he didn't see any need to legalize growing hemp. He said he was told that if there was cross-pollination between marijuana and hemp, the hemp's THC content could increase.

Keene said the legalization of growing hemp is advocated as "a first step" by those who wish to legalize growing marijuana.

Let's ALL call this dumbass up. Quite obviously he wants crime and drug dealers in our streets. His phone number is 530-895-4217

GOPerverted Republicans Exposing Themselves in Public

Officially GOPerverted

I think it's getting easier to see the perverts like Keene. More actual Republicans are leaving the lemmings following the Bush fascists perversions. All of the ideals that made Republicans now seem like the moral party, is lost. No authority can be kept when no one trusts the orders. GOPerverts adulterating the very core of the party with the largest government, largest welfare pay outs, largest debt, largest unemployment and largest slave market in history topping 2 million. Now taking more independent jobs from American entrepreneurs to maintain the same old poisons profits and fossil fool imports is harder to splain to lucy. The more they lie, the more people disassociate with them. 300+ red state farmers are going out of business daily to the Bush Cheney chemical ag industries and factory farms. Hemp is looking good for a variety of reasons. The versatility that makes the fascist paranoid gives the home grown farmer multiple products and eliminates store bought chemicals used on other crops. The only weapon they have is censorship and lies and I think the cat is too far out of the bag to put it back. But then ya never know in an epidemic of sheople-itis.

U.S. Newswire Press Release*November 01, 2005
San Francisco -- As scores of leading American companies that make and sell a wide variety of consumer and manufacturing components made from hemp seed, oil and fiber meet in San Francisco November 3-4, new market research shows that many of these companies are experiencing strong growth in sales. The hemp retail sales figures to be presented at the Hemp Industries Association (HIA) annual meeting demonstrate that retail sales of hemp foods and body care made from hemp seed and oil continued their explosive growth and are fueling a major expansion in Canadian hemp farming.

Drug Policy Official Fails To Sway Senate By Steve Terrell *
Source: Santa Fe New Mexican January 28, 2006 New Mexico *
The Bush administration got involved in New Mexico’s medical marijuana issue Friday, sending a top drug-policy administrator to testify against SB158. But David W. Murray, a special assistant to national drug czar John Walters, had little or no effect on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which gave the measure a do-pass with bipartisan support. And some senators said Murray’s presentation was heavy-handed.

THE BUSH-CHENEY DRUG EMPIRE
1936: DuPont obtains a patent license to manufacture synthetic "plastic fibers" from German industrial giant I.G. Farben Corporation. The patent license is obtained as part Germany's reparation payments to the United States after World War I. A few years later, I.G. Farben manufactures deadly Zyklon-B gas, used in Nazi death camps to murder millions of Jews (along with many homosexuals and drug users). DuPont owned and financed approximately 30% of Hitler's I.G. Corps, the military-industrial backbone of the fascist Third Reich.
