Thanks anikee, I try my best to keep my grow area as clean as possible. Sometimes I think I might worry too much about different things being this is my first go at it. Like now, I'm worried because my humidity level is at around 25% and fluctuates up to 50% sometimes. Do I get a humidifier or not? Just the type of person I am. Hence the new hobby!!!

Here is a pic of the "ladies" today. I'm waiting on a PandaFilm tarp to surround my smaller grow area so I can put the WW's into flowering and no light will interupt them while they sleep.

O.K., I ordered a tarp to section off my area Sat. and it's not going to get here until Monday even though I paid extra for the 4 day delivery. My tallest plant is 30" tall and I need to flower yesterday. I'm soooooo pissed right now.

I started flowering my plants on 12/7 because I didn't get my tarp until yesterday. I just brought my small plants inside. Why I didn't do that sooner is beyond me. Anyways, 3 out of the 8 were males so they got axed. So now I have 5 perfectly healthy ladies, which I am very happy with.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should re pot the ladies. They are just under 4 feet tall in 3 gal. pots. I dont see any roots coming out of the bottom holes or anything, Im just afraid that if the plants get any bigger it will be a major problem. Any ideas?

I used to think that ya needed a big (5 gal) bucket for bud, but nowadays alll my buckets are 3 gal. Even the Tubgirl thing works out to 2.5 gal / plant. You'll get argument on this, but I think the 3 gal bucket is fine, unless roots start poking out the bottom. (which hasn't happened to me yet)

White widow! good choice.
I'm just about finished with my first white widow grow.
I put 2 plants under a 400w metal halide and then a 400w HPS
If you havn't seen it, check it out.
They get very stinky, and bud like crazy.
good luck!

Ok, its been a while since my last detailed post so here we go. I felt I had to repot my ladies due to the fact that I could see roots coming out of the bottoms of the 3 gal. pots and the plants are about 4 ft. tall now. I decided to go ahead and use grow bags seeing as how I already had some and they are 5 gal. By the way, repotting 5, 4 ft tall plants is easy only in theory! Especially being a rookie like me. Here is a pic of them in grow bags.

After I re-potted the plants I decided now was a good time to prune the lower branches because the upper leaves seemed to droop a little bit. That helped a little. Then something dawned on me. I've been using way too little ferts. Especially since I am using organic ferts. My plants look healthy, but I think they could be better, especially after looking at other peoples grows (you know who you are, bastards ) So now I have the additives I should have been using a month ago on the way to be here by Sat., I hope. Here are some more shots of the ladies and their buds.

so true,

White widow loves it's fertilizer. My plants seemed to handle a good amount of it. My ferts were water soluable. During the entire flowering process I went with the highest recomendation (for larger plants) I fed them twice a week instead of once, I guess about a half gallon a week for the two plants.
I'm not telling you to overfertilize, I'm just saying that it seems like they can handle a good dose of fertilizer. EcoBloom is slightly acidic. My soil wasn't the best either. Anyway, I would try upping it a little and see what happens.

you definitly have a professional style grow area, it looks great!
Good luck, you'll love the results.

(tim8abug cannot be held liable for any damage to your plants resulting from overfertilizing. His advice is strictly speculation and not fact. This was his first grow with white widow. Results may vary.)

The pistils on the buds of 3 plants have started turning brown and some of the large fan leaves are lighter green like they might turn yellow soon. Is this too early or is this normal? Here are some pics.

From what I understand and I may be wrong, but the green color of the plant is because of Chlorophyll. This is the plants food or energy. The larger leaves store this for future use of the plant. When this is used up the leaves will turn yellow. Once they have turned yellow they are of no use to the plant and can be clipped.

GREAT job btw...

Well thats the catch. They are only in week 6 of flowering. I'm wondering if there is anything that can cause premature browning of the pistils and if so what is it?

DONT USE PISTIL COLOR TO DETERMINE HARVEST!
pistil color or not, those buds in those pics still have some time to go.
Your best bet is to buy a pocket scope for 10bucks from radio shack. That way you can use the scope to view the maturity of the trichomes on your plant. You should harvest when the trichome heads are predominately cloudy, with a few amber ones showing.
I have helped harvest plants that have had over 70% clear pistils, but was definately ready...as well as seen plants that have there pistils turn nearly all brown, when there was still 3 weeks left in flowering
