Excellent pre flowering shots. Yeah they do look a bit manly. Fingers crossed I`m sure there`ll be ladies in there.
Re growth spurt- they`ll have been getting their roots sorted, once they`ve done that they often put a spurt on.

Nice plants. Hope the flower into beautiful women. I remember when my plants looked that bushy. Once flowered though, the stretched more than I would have liked. Great rig too. A lot cleaner looking than mine too, but I have 4 walls.

environmentals essentials
The Lord couldst not be more pleaseth with the ease of this grow so far (touches wood.) Automatic (but still El Cheapo) environmental control of the Holy Groweth Room has taken at least 80% of the fret factor off of the Lord's mind.
No more 3:00AM treks through the snow to turn on heaters, adjust fans and whatnot, and I'm able to leave for days at a time knowing temps and humidity remain constant in my absence. Super-Bigass-Humidamuhfuckah 9000GT: is worketh perfectly. Regardless the weather, RH runs 55-60%, and the reservoir is big enough that it can go a week without having to add water. Fan-A-Matic 3000 Tri-Blow runs: * low power, 24/7 lamp cooling fan - exhausts into room to conserve heat. * 4" 172 CFM room vent fan - pulls through carbon filter, and is controlled by portable 120VAC thermostat - constantly cycles on and off to maintain 68F room temp. * 8" 24/7 oscillator rustles the leaves and prevents localized hot/cold spots. I'm putting the children in flower this week, and I'll have to work out timer schedules for the heater and fans. I want to get everything tweaketh so that the room vents at least once per hour, but doesn't get too cold during venting - but doesn't run that energy suck electric heater any more than necessary. That would be a good time for a nice fat joint. Too bad I don't have one! Peace & Love J.H.C. |

Super-Bigass-Humidamuhfuckah 9000GT. (TM, patent pending)
Pond pump sprays batting inside the coffee can, fan pulls air through the batting. The Lord hath looked into CO2. Doesn't make $ sense for a little hobby farmer like the Lord. Peace & Love J.H.C. |

All excellent questions/concerns. The Lord thanketh.
1) Fan + Water = Holy Smoke The Lord didst perform a drop test, and if the Holy Support chain should breaketh, the fan does indeed fall outside the tub. Also, all AC accessories are running from circuit-breaked power strips. As for wet air through the fan, that actually was a problem initially. That's the reason for the tall vertical duct up to the fan: Most of the water picked up in the coffee can condenses inside the duct and runs back down into the reservoir. The fan blows moistened air, but no actual water. 2) Lamp Cooling The Lord was VERY concerned about protecting that expensive bulb, and of course, the Lord's beautiful barn attacheth to the Holy Groweth room! What you can't see in the photo is the other (inlet) side of the lamp fixture, that explaineth why the little fan is effective: The inlet side of the fixture is 8", and wide open. With no ducting or filters to pull through on the inlet side, the fan has almost no load on it, and the flow rate of cooling air is almost as high as the fans max CFM capability. I haven't measured actual temps, but I'd estimate the top of the fixture at about 120F. It's warm, but not hot. 3) Run with Open Hood? Now that is a damn good observation/question. It's possible that the lamp is cooled more efficiently with the current setup, as it does not allow heat to build up in the top of the fixture as would happen were the fixture to be run in an open configuration... and then again, maybe not? The Lord is intrigued. I'll break out my laser temp tester and take readings for both configurations. Interesting. Peace & Love J.H.C. |
