i'm not guaranteed credit for studying here so i'll be back in stabland/coldmonton for a while. after that i have no idea. i'll most likely be going to grad school after i finish this degree, but where and when is up in the air. theres a good science university in trondheim (norway), i'll probably apply here at uio (oslo) and my home university (uofa) for backup. also maybe uvic and ubc because the weathers nice and its not too far from home and close to some friends.
big question mark up ahead

a lot of people ask if i want to be a teacher, but i always say no because teaching is a lot harder than learning; however being a prof is a good thought because they don't have to know jack shit about teaching.
but the answer is no. i just happen to like learning about science-y stuff

oil can pay for a lot of things if you don't let giant companies leave the country with all the royalties

Thanks Peace Seeker
We just made a new one last night! Filled the tub (12 gal maybe?) with peat, peralite, worm castings, dolomitic lime, myke....DaGrowPartne r did the mixing as he has this insane idea that I'm clumsy and would probably fall into the lime Can't guarantee that i wouldn't actually..![]() We added a gallon of water mixed with catalyst (bout 1/2 tsp...sold as xcatalyst in can) and another gallon of water with molasses (bubbled)...forgot the toast (hi farmer, pharmgirl!)....mixed it again and now it sits. Should be great by the time the cotton candy needs a pot up. ![]() Captain.. a kewl perspective. I guess we are all perpetual students when you think of it.. I have had some of the most unlikely teachers! |

My best estimate....
3/4 cup of myke, 2 cups dolometic lime, 12 cups worm castings, (about 1 cup per gallon) alot of peat (about 48 cups) alot of perlite (about 35 cups) 45 % peat, 40% perlite, 10% worm castings, 5% myke and lime. |

Awww man, now ya done it Jenna, gave away the secret. Did he tell you the cheque was in the mail???
LOL The worm castings are a long term source of Nitrogen among other things. red wiggler worm castings have a N-P-K ratio of about 3.2-1.1-1.5. Make a tea with this and your plants will love you for it. But don't keep it longer than a few hours after bubbling or you could be introducing toxins and fermetation into your root system. Tea recipe: 1/2 cup castings, 1 Tbsp of molassas in a couple gallons of water Using a stone and air pump (or whatever else you can use to aerate the mixture) bubble the tea for a few hours. Mix this with water in a 1 part tea to 4 or 5 parts water. It shouldn't burn at higher levels but the plants can only use so much right? Hate to cause a toxicity in the mix. Remember to discard the tea if it sit's for too long Quote:
