The Cotton Candy is 39 days old. Tonight three of them were potted up into 2 gallon pots.. I like two gallon pots.. I really like 5 gallon pots but we don't have the room so 2 gallon it is. Anyhow, the three potted up have shown to be girls.. the other two are still sitting in 1 gallons.
I was sitting in a chat talking about earth juice not so long ago and the general consensus in the room was it was impossible to overdo it with earth juice because it was just THAT good. Ok.. don't believe everything you hear in a chat room.. who knew? Ph bottoms like crazy but you just can't fry your plants with it.. Oh joy...a challenge!.. Still trying to get used to these new nutes.. Anyhow, as I mixed up a batch of grow nutes, this little voice in my head said.. "If some is good, more is better.." Plants look a bit limp to me tonight.. maybe the juice was a tad strong. Not the scarf on the bottom...think that's a bit of light burn from babyhood. In looking at them, I am watching a developing mg def.. I think a mg def because the tips are bent, lightened tips while the leaf vien still appears green..Somebody correct me if that's not what you look for.. Nitrogen, I look for a general yellowing and the hook.. Guess we will see what the next day or so brings... once they dry out a bit. Here's some pics... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

i dont know about cloning that male...Looks like it has mutant tendencies (lower part of the plant).
if u got more beans, maybe its worth trying to find another male next time around. thankfully the necrosis on the bottom leafs didnt come back. You re right it prolly was a light burn. I m surprised they got over it at that (early) stage. It will prolly take you a little time to dial-in the new nutes. |

Whoa, missed this one
![]() All the plants showed that pattern to a certain degree. I have been thinking that it was nute-induced to be honest, but you could very well be right. Dialing in these nutes sure is taking a long time

Thanks Peaceseeker..i think we have to start measuring those nutes...
all in all i like the earth juice stuff... These plants are forgiving and have recovered pretty good from my heavy hand.. plus the ph pen is working again.. I think . Just hanging on to the boy for awhile..gonna see how he grows out.The gals are in flower.. I would have liked to wait a bit but room space is at a premium these days. Thinking about raising the light in flower and seeing how much we can get outta these gals..could it really be that simple? If I remember right, I don't think it was a huge difference in yeilds from a 2 to a 5 gallon..more definately but not loads when you consider way more soil.. Here is some pics of the cotton candy in flower.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope we get pink pistils!!

Measuring? What's that?
![]() Yeah, I am slowly coming to the realisation that doing it by eye might not work so well ROFL

i think the ml-pipette is handy and needed if you re using a variety of nutes in your grow.
Being so accurate with your feedings prolly wont make a difference in most strains, but certain nute-sensitive ones (espeically some sativas) will appreciate the accuracy. I also used to measure with the "eye", but since my last grow, the pipette has a place in my nutes box |

I use a bottle cap (or fraction thereof) into a bucket of water. I don`t know how big the bottle cap is or the bucket but everything is relative! I have noted over time that 1 bottle cap in a bucket is quite a lot, half less so
.I do use a pippette for pH up or down though.

I like syringes, you can clean them with a bottle brush. I may have to get off my lazy arse and get something in the next few hours. I wish they had the UK's grow shops here. Amazing.
